- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2024I've run these in different rigs for months or years now, they just work.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2024How does something this small deliver 300W? By not having to produce the 12v from which most of the computer's power is drawn, so all it has to do is switch it on and off, plus regulate it down for the 5v and 3.3v busses which require much less current.
The problem is that the included wiring to the 12v bulk supply isn't robust enough to handle the current at higher power levels without excessive voltage drop. When I tested the supply with a Meanwell bulk supply, there was over a volt of drop from the bulk supply to the motherboard due to the resistance in the wiring and connectors when the computer was running at peak power of about 150W, and that's not good. I replaced the 12v input connector with 12ga soldered-in wires, and the barrel connector with Anderson PowerPole 20A connectors, two pairs in parallel. With the same type of wiring to the bulk supply, the voltage drop was reduced to less than a tenth of a volt at peak power.
That said, the modified supply has been running pretty much 24/7 for the last 3+ months without any trouble with the CPU making regular full-power runs.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2022I am using it for crypto mining, i am currently powering 5 CPU Mining rig using this. One thing I didn’t feel comfortable, the original 12v input wire to the board were too thin, it was getting too hot for my liking, fire hazard. The original wire, copper gauge was 24 AWG (3rd image, 2 red and 2 blk wire connector, is the original) and I upgraded them to 16 AWG (new connector that is on the pico board, red, white, green and black wire). 2-3 wires of the original is equal to one of the 16AWG wire I replaced. Now works perfect. Powering all of them with a Server PSU and a breakout board(SEE VIDEO).The media could not be loaded.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2022I dabble in CPU mining. My little farm had grown to the point where I had ATX power supplies all over the place and they took up as much room as the motherboard itself. These Pico PSUs run off 12V so there's multiple ways to power them. Using a 1200W server PSU and a breakout board you can power 1 to about 8 CPU mining rigs, depending upon how much wattage you are drawing per rig. In the attached pic you can see I have 8 rigs in a small footprint. I used to have only 4 in this space b/c the ATX PSU took up half a shelf. I recommend these slightly more expensive 300W Pico PSUs over the cheaper 200/250 watt versions. More PSU headroom is always a good idea. Been running these for about a month now, no issues at all. Highly recommended.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2023The power supply on my (14 year) old mini ITX case was starting to randomly power itself off. This power supply has been running fine for a month now in my system. The system is small and only draws 30W, so I'm not stressing the power supply much. The power supply appears to be made with quality components, has clean solder joints, is very clean, and should last a long time. I'm very happy.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2021well. first off if your buying this most likely u want to run a computer off a battery like I am, 13volt dont work. used a voltage regulator. to keep the volts to 12volt. and mine defective, on and off when u but a load on it and this is the 300watt version. they need to have a regulator built into in. cause u could have a 12 volt power supply from the wall but if its higher voltage or to low for it, it wont do nothing. this thing is to picky and not reliable for a 12volt battery, the other version I have had was the 250 watt that worked for 4 days, but I didn't realized that the battery was charging and the volts was 14v and the thing wouldn't work at that voltage! but I didn't know this so thought it was deflective so I did a return.NO instructions came with it. so I have been learn on my own this this stuff and now a few of you out there. u would think there would be more than 1 manufacture for this type of thing also there would be less waste if they had instructions with it. and a voltage regulator built in and there would be less waste and returns!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2023This was my first experience with ITX builds, and one thing I'd heard a lot for extra small ITX builds is pico/DC-DC power supplies. I used the 240w LEDWholesalers brick which was recommended by many, and it worked fine. I was blown away at how affordable and compact this whole setup was.
Of course, there was a catch. The DC connector where the brick plugs into gets incredibly hot under load, and the cables running after the power brick, especially the PSU side get hot too. My system (RTX A2000, i5 12400) uses 150W maximum sustained load. Talked to my electrical engineer friend and he said the wires off the connector (18AWG as labeled) could be under-specced, as could the connector itself. After tearing into the connector, the solder joints actually looked half decent, but it's clear the jack and wires weren't.
I don't want to throw things like "Fire hazard" around without good reason, especially when lots of other reviewers had good anecdotes with this unit and it could be due to unfortunate circumstances on my end. As noted by other reviewers though, the wiring was too thin and had to be replaced, and a review on the LEDWholesalers brick said the wiring AND jack included jack got hot. I'll be returning the power brick, but since I cut this one up in an attempt to fix/replace the power connector, I can't return this.
I really don't want to slander what for many people's been the answer they need, and a product in theory I'm a big fan of, but my experience here was concerning to say the least. I ended up going with the HDPlex GaN passive aio supply, which works great, but I was really hoping this would work at 1/4 the price. Gotta say from my experience, proceed with caution.

I bought this to put into a mini ITX pfsense build I was doing and it worked great. It's been running for about a year now and I have had zero issues.
wcboysReviewed in Canada on December 18, 20195.0 out of 5 stars Great for a more powerful motherboard/cpu
I bought this unit as a replacement for a less powerful model. It did the trick and the motherboard powered up right away. I have been using it ever since and I have had no complaints. It get a good review from me.
PhilTOReviewed in Canada on January 10, 20204.0 out of 5 stars very pleased with this in my HTPC case
I bought this to replace a nano-type PSU which was somehow sending noise (ground loop buzz plus intermittent sputtering) over HDMI and TOSlink. It took drilling for L-brackets to mount it in my Wesena mini-ITX case. Plugged it in, turned it on, hooked it up, and the noise is gone! (Well there's a very low level ground buzz with my ear within an inch or 2 of the speaker: I can live with that.)
I don't know if the other PSU board was defective or simply attaching the ground wire on this one did the trick (the nanu didn't have a ground wire) but I wish I'd tried this before spending a lot of money on less effective isolators etc.
Giving 4 stars only because it's new and reliability is not confirmed.
Great value.

This PSU should be rated at 125w max not 300
The plug and input wires get uncomfortably hot above 125w
I am certain anywhere near 300 watts things will become dramatic.
The Input wire size at18ga is grossly undersizsd should be at least 14ga.
One star reduced because of cost for 8 pin cpu adapter and undersized input wires that i was forced to replace.
