I thought this documentary was wonderful in that it was both academic and down-to-earth. It also highlights Luther's strengths and weaknesses - while trying to interpret him within the context of his culture (and not our culture). To me, they did a good job and not being anachronistic.

Visually, the documentary is very pleasing. Historically, there was a good deal of helpful explanation. Theologically, it was clear regarding Luther's stances (both pros and cons).

That said, it's only 90 minutes. You can't get into everything in 90, but I think this video gives a wonderful, overarching idea of this man's life, ministry and influence.

Informative and visually pleasing for the most part. The animation scenes that dramatize key spiritual moments in Luther's life are a bit strange and unnecessary. As 2017 is the 500th anniversary (if you want to be strict in defining 1517 as THE year it began as Luther nailed his 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenberg church) of the Protestant Reformation, do yourself a service and watch it.

It's nice to get a documentary that provides a summarized biography of such an important historical figure from people who actually believe the Bible. Not just focusing on the man himself, but the theological issues that led to The Protestant Reformation is a nice touch. The film delves into his shortcomings without dwelling on them- probably not enough for his detractors, but this is not hagiography either. Very informative, and hopefully viewers will be motivated to do further research into Luther and Reformed Theology. Highly recommend.

Beautifully filmed and educational without being dull and uninteresting. The contributors are not merely pastors and theologians, but are men whose lives demonstrate unquestionable character and learning. We sometimes confuse truth for "lack of objectivity," but rest assured this film is based on historical facts and therefore, verifiable.

This year (2017) marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation and you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you miss this excellent docementary on the life and importance of Martin Luther. Highly recommended.
