Worked fine (at least with Windows 10 - no driver problems)
Used this to gain an extra DIY "internal" USB port to connect to my PSU for fan speed control and temperature monitoring. All my mobo internal USB connectors were allocated elsewhere, so I used an available mobo serial COM port, DB9pin , to the back panel, then the RS232 Adapter to gain the extra USB connector. Put the cable back internally (see photo) to connect to my PSU (required an extra adapter from USB-A to mini USB on the PSU ).

Got this cable to match up with Uniden BCT15X serial programming cable; worked perfectly, but both this cable's male RS232 and the Uniden's female RS232 cable were external ends, with mounting screws facing each other. The only way to keep the ends from coming apart would be to tape them together, or remove all 4 screws and use tiny zip ties or wire to keep them together. Unfortunately, Uniden doesn't include a modern programming cable with this model scanner, so it's this solution, or purchase the correct Uniden USB-1 cable or aftermarket clone.

This cable produced a serial port for my PC running Windows 10 by connecting the cable to a USB port on my PC. Installation was very easy. I used this serial port in order to operate a Shure DFR22 digital signal processor to produce a crossover network needed for a low frequency cone type loudspeaker and a high frequency horn type loudspeaker and to an equalizer to produce a relatively flat frequency response from about 80 to 8000 Hz. The software for the Shure DFR22 requires a serial port.

I don't know if this burned out. I used it successfully once, but it wouldn't work again a few minutes later on a different computer. So, I went back to the first computer, but it wouldn't work there either. I downloaded new drivers, but it still won't connect to my RS232 device again.
Buying a different brand.
Too late to return or ask for a new one.

Correction!
It works just fine when you plug in the power to your device properly! I had my device powered by a 12 volt power supply, that wasn't plugged in. I had moved my device and failed to plug in the power supply.
Back to a 5 star rating!

Die Adapterleitung funktioniert einwandfrei, man muss sich jedoch den aktuellen Treiber beim Hersteller laden - automatisch erkennt Windows da leider nichts.

Was je nach Anwendung bedacht werden muss: Die Leitung entspricht dem RS232 Port auf dem Mainboard - heißt je nach Andwendung muss ein Null-Modem-Adapter oder Leitung dahinter!
Ohne das hat z.B. beim Fluke-Messgerät auslesen nämlich auch nichts geklappt...
