Great for the price
I've been using this lens for a few weeks now. I purchased it to place on a Canon EOS-M with CineStyle Picture Style installed. You will need to purchase a 16mm Cine Movie C Mount Lens to Canon EOS M EF-M Mirrorless Camera Adapter to place this lens on the EOS-M. The results have been fantastic. First off, understand that this is a full manual lens... you will be doing all your focusing yourself. Although the end of the lens is very small, it is surprisingly easy to focus and takes very little turning. The F1.6 does a great job of providing a smooth blur behind your subject (see attached dog picture). I was able to shoot some nice video with it also. It was purchased to give a Cinematic look to 1080p video I needed to shoot and it does the job well. Don’t expect $700+ Cine lens results, but it does a great job for the $$. The F-Stop goes from 1.6 up to 16, but in any far away shots, you will always get a slight blur around the edges at 16. If you need scenic shots, this is not the lens for you. It works great for close ups, children shots or animals. I took some pictures of a few flowers and that worked out really nice. If you don't have the money for an expensive DSLR lens that will open up to 1.6, then this is an inexpensive option, just don't expect miracles.

First off: the adapter is finicky and twists off in my hand a lot. Second: this is not a pixel peeping lens.

However...

It's soft and often oddly beautiful. It's all metal and feels sturdy. I just dropped it on concrete today (whoops) and miraculously, the lens popped off the camera but survived. The depth of field is very shallow and kind of weird. No matter what you do, most of your image will not be in focus. The colors are weird, too.

Basically: this is way better at being a digital holga than the digital holga (or even holga lens mount) is. If you're into lomography, this is a really fun lens to have. It does NOT the swirly bokeh, but it's tasty nonetheless. The lens can perform even in low light conditions. If you're looking for an artsy lens, go for it. If you're looking for a cheap practical lens...be prepared to up your price point significantly.

I use it with a Fujifilm xm1, and it's my default casual lens.

I bought this lens based on online recommendations for an inexpensive cinematic video set-up with a used Canon EOS M. The lens presents an incredible value for the price. I ended up taking lots of pictures with it, as it renders a dreamy quality with its out of focus areas and a wonderful bokeh. At this price, there is no reason why you shouldn’t add it to your photo arsenal. Check out the photos.

I got this lens just for testing with an astronomical camera. It works pretty well during the day but that's not my real interest. At night, there seems to be a bit of astigmatism, but whatever. More to the point though, It does thread on to a normal astronomical thread and the focus depth is right for the camera.

As others have commented, infinity focus is a little iffy but with some patience you can get it dialed in.... I ought to put a worm gear on it.

I bought this lens and adapter for Canon EOS series. Adapter fits camera, lens fits adapter. Lens will only focus if the camera is 4 inches from anything, with and without the C rings. If its closer or farther, it will not focus.
