I'm just getting re-started into amateur radio at the very young age of 65. Antennas have always seemed like black magic to me. This little gadget is great for someone who is even mildly technical. I soldered the included headers onto the board and mated it with a little Arduino Uno clone in which I had burned the serial repeater software (available on the RigExpert website). After attaching it to my laptop with a USB cable and then to my antenna, I was getting measurements from using RigExpert's Antscope software within minutes. It told me that my Buddipole portable antenna was not quite setup correctly for 40 meters. Making even tiny length changes (e.g. 1") in the antenna whip extensions changes the frequency impedence characteristics in very measurable ways. Scanning the whole frequency range from 0-30MHz is enlightening on this simple dipole. This little tool is going to very useful and a whole lot of fun in coming years.
If I get really ambitious, I may even come up with a sketch or two on the Arduino or possibly mate it with a Raspberry Pi with and a tiny LCD to make portable tool for field use.
The open source Antscope2 software is out and the source code has been modified to support the new AA-30.ZERO board, but I haven't seen a bundled installation package for Windows, yet. For those with a minor amount of ambition, you could download the Antscrope2 source from GitHub and compile it on your local PC.
Again, this board is easy to use, well made and pretty accurate according to an ARRL QST article from August 2018. There are even silk screened markings of the board into discrete logical sections (e.g. mixer, oscillator, amplifier).
