This is an awesome yoga mat. It's SO GRIPPY since it's made of natural rubber rather than a synthetic squishy and plasticy material. It's very thin, but according to yoga instructors and practicers I've spoken to who are more experienced than me, you really want grip more than cushion; you can always roll up a towel if you want a cushion, but you can't really add grip.
It is a standard size/length, at least comparing to the other mats in the class I took. No surprises there.
It also feels super high quality and durable; it's hard to describe how much better than a cheap yoga mat it feels. And in case anyone is complaining about the smell: THAT'S WHAT NATURAL RUBBER SMELLS LIKE. It's not a chemical or plastic; it's the rubber. Go sniff a new tire, and it will smell exactly the same—and to be clear, the small is not overwhelming or anything to me; I literally don't notice it unless I'm actively trying to sniff the yoga mat—which… why would you do that??
