These were so great for hiking!! The path we took had rocks, tree limbs, wooden bridge walkways, dirt, and small streams of water and they help up to the task! I would size up half a size if you’re unsure, my kiddo is moving into a size 12 so I got that size and they worked but I wish I had gone half a size further as they would have still worked too and lasted longer!!

I buy these every year for my rough and tumble son, whom is 10 yrs old this year. They are very durable, comfortable, and we love that there aren't any shoe strings, although he can tie his own shoes lol The dog chewed up our current pair, so we like them so much that Im actually about to repurchase another pair for him. They are water resistant, not water proof. They will keep your kiddos feet nice and dry on a hike, even if you have to cross a small stream. They keep your feet warm and dry in the winter, but are perfect for summer too. I dont think they would be best in deep, wet snow, but you could definitely hike a snowy trail in them, as long as the snow didnt come up over the boot. We spend a great deal of time in the woods, as we live in a very rural area. These boots stand up to briars, thorns, and rocky terrain. Merrell is great brand. Cant beat these kids boots for the price.
