One important note. I encountered a problem (that was actually a fault with the external display) that made me contact Satechi customer support. Support was easy to reach and John was very willing to help. That counts!
7 Sept 21 Update - I gave this 2 stars, but I am lowering it to one. I contacted Amazon and someone called to say he would help. He said he could not refund this item but he would try to get the manufacturer to assist. He also said he would call me the next day at 3pm. I waited and he didn't call back. Someone else called and left a message saying they had not made any progress. I have not heard from Amazon since. I can't put the card from my camera into the adapter, it's completely block. I tried other cards, nothing will go into the slot. The adapter gets to hot to touch, so even if I could get a camera card in, I would not leave it there long. Amazon's return policy really let me down on this defective product.
Speaking of the mini DisplayPort, the milling tolerances around some of the ports is not fantastic. The mDP port is really tight, making it hard to plug or remove the cable. The USB-C PD port for power is inset really far so the USB-C cable I have doesn't click into place nicely. This means the cable just falls out. I have an issue where if the power is suddenly connected or removed, the display outputs tend to fail. Resetting SMC (as suggested by Satechi tech support) helped sort out some of my display issues but it's still kinda flakey when the power is suddenly removed (which happens whenever the cable just pops out).
Problems aside, I'm giving this 4 stars because it still works in general, but the experience hasn't been the greatest. I haven't noticed a difference in ethernet performance, but I'm only using it to connect to development devices, not the internet. I'm not going to be using the power passthru due to the cable issue, but I don't mind because the USB-C port ends up in a weird spot in my setup.
Outside of those two issues, the adapter did work fine insofar as it provided a good quality dispaly signal via the mDP port and the USB ports worked without issues. On the whole, I wouldn't buy it agian.

3 USB3 x 5 Gb/s = 15 Gb/s
1 ethernet x 1 Gb/s = 1 Gb/s
1 HDMI 4K30Hz x 6 Gb/s per = 6 Gb/s
2 SD x 3 Gb/s = 6 Gb/s
------------------------------------------
totale = 28 Gb/s
