Open and curious, Slutever has tackled several sexual topics. As a young woman, this program is exactly what we need to breakdown the archaic mindset when it comes to sex, exploring sexual lifestyles and applying to our personal lives. Personally excited for episode 3 since this has been a topic my friends and I have talked at length about.
The show is great in many ways.. I really enjoy how it shows all different views of sex technology and sexual issues and different views of sex from all walks of life. It’s funny to see all the people crying about the name of the show.. I find it funny just because I feel they simply named it this because their speaking on issues that would usually be frowned upon or considered a “slut” for talking this way.. lol just like everything else on VICE, they are making shows that show and talk about parts of life this day in age and cover things that NO ONE else is covering!! They are amazing for this, I think everyone should watch more of it so maybe they can understand people who are opposite of them.. I, myself went into 2016-2017 not knowing/understanding a lot of the things in this LGBT movement and had a few negative thoughts of my own that I now feel differently about. Simply because I’ve watched some of these shows and seen things from a different view, a view much, much different than mine! It’s harlious to see some of my family’s and friends reactions to VICELAND’s shows!! A lot them don’t like it or don’t want to watch it because they are too close minded.. I myself always want to understand things from someone else’s view. Sooo many people want to cast a hard judgement on people or speaking on issues they know NOTHING about apparently, because they only understand ONE side.
Horribly offensive title to series, as well as image. In fact, I could care less what this series is about because of these two issues!
I would like to add this to my review:
I so agree that such topics need to be taken on! "Archaic mindsets" need to be broken down. BUT! Referring to women as sluts is demeaning!!! Might as well call us the 'C' word and be proud. I, and many other of us have been referred to such things as sluts and 'C@nts' to shut us up, to make us feel like crap, to put us in our place for so very long, that naming this program what is literally makes me ill. In fact whoever named this program must have been in the middle of a paradoxymoronish moment, in my opinion. I believe the title will keep many from watching. Maybe I'm wrong? I guess we'll see.
