As you can see from the images, there are differences, specifically in the 4th layer. This is called out in the included manual (again, I have to point out that I've purchased $30 cases for the Pi that don't include color step-by-step instructions with warnings!) that it comes as two pieces instead in the other version's single piece. Looking at the side-by-side, the board changes necessitated making this two pieces, and I can't see how they could have done it any other way. After assembly, I can see why someone else pointed out the possibility of compression or damage if pressed exactly wrong. However, once the case is assembled, this would only happen if the top and bottom layers were compressed enough directly over that spot to not let the 4th layer slide over those components, while a blow was positioned directly between and below where the audio jack and HDMI cables were plugged in. I suppose it COULD happen, but my first question would be what the !@#$ are you doing with your case that's designed to sit on a desk?!?
As to another comment about the GPIO ribbon cable not being able to be used with the included fan:
A) I like the option to either use the fan or the GPIO pins... many of my uses of the Pi dictate using one or the other, not both.
B) If it's that important to use both, there's ribbon cables designed to let you still have access to the power pins.
Lest everyone think that I don't have suggestions for improvement, I can think of a couple:
1) The clear film that was protecting the top and bottom layer of the acrylic was so clear that I didn't realize it was on there at first. Either marking the film or noting it in the instructions would help people who are not aware.
2) Given what I've seen of the Pi PoE HAT, I think the complaints about layer 4 would be moot, but I look forward to trying out that case once you make it.
As always, I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has.

After using it for over a month with Octopi on a 3b+ it seems to do a good job keeping it cool. I purchased this one specifically since it had a bundle with a fan and a power cord
One issue I have with it is the ports are slightly recessed and the some of "layers" of the case are right up against them. This means that any cable that has any kind of thickness next to the male end that plugs in will not work, or will possibly bend the port. It doesn't make sense to me that it was designed this way - considering that you have to individually lay each layer on top of another, and it's custom fit just for the raspberry pi, and the layers right next to it have gaps for the port to be accessible, I feel they could have come up with a better solution
It works fine and was a good value for the money, but I also bought it because it was in stock. It's not the best case but it does te job.
The power supply and USB cable with on/off switch - not so much. Using the power supply that I got with my board, I have no issues. Using *either* the Smraza cable with a known good power supply, or using the Smraza power supply with a known good cable causes undervoltage issues, even when returned to factory clock settings and NO peripherals.
The switching cable was one of the reasons I selected this kit. Bit of a letdown that it's not working at all within specs. It's a 5 star kit with a 1 star powersupply and cable, hence my rating.
Update & Changed Review Score:
The supplier responded quickly to my concerns, and is replacing the power supply kit. Great response time and customer service. Score reflects the anticipated working power supply unit and cable kit.
Update the 2nd:
Received a new power supply unit with a wired in USB cable. Same issue as the one I received originally - poor power output. I still get the "low power lightning bolt" at all times with this unit as well, and as an alternate test, I used it to charge my phone. It actually takes longer to charge my cell from no power to full power than the cheesy old USB 2.0 ports on my old beater laptop I use to read or cruise the internet on while watching TV with the wife. The power supply can't even keep the phone charging positively when tasking with something as simple as using an ebook reader with a black background. I'm giving them an extra star (total 4) for great customer service. I've seen many positive reviews about the overall kit and power adapter, so maybe I've just gotten 2 bad ones in a row. IMHO, still worth the price even with crappy PS.
