I ordered one Anker 1000 for my wife's iPhone and tested it. It charges the phone as well and as fast as the wall charger. You have to use the cord of your phone's wall-charger, as the USB -to- micro-USB the Anker comes with doesn't fit an iPhone. After testing, I ordered another unit for my Android phone and the cord it comes with does fit the phone.
The Anker did not really need to include any cord because to recharge the unit, you have to provide your own wall-socket transformer anyway, which you have on your phone's charger, so why not just use that cord to also recharge the Anker? That's what I do. I guess the provided short USB charging cord would be handy in public places that provide USB charging ports.
I appreciated the Anker's "trickle mode" charging for Bluetooth headsets. It works. There is otherwise some risk of overpowering delicate headsets with a full blast. I also use it to recharge a small Bluetooth desktop speaker.
Verizon touts another brand of portable charger roughly the size of a smartphone in a case, but it's only 500 milliamp-hours (vs this Ankers' 1000 mah) for the same price. The extra capacity is great for long flights where you might need to charge both phone and headset more than once.
The Anker is a smooth pellet shape (2x4x1 inches) but at nearly half a pound, it's a tad heavy for carrying around in pocket or purse (just under 7 ounces). Newer-technology lithium-polymer chargers are lighter but cost more. Still, when the battery in your aging phone has gone limp, instead of $80 for a new one plus $20 labor, carrying an Anker 1000 around might seem like a tolerable alternative.
The Anker 1000 does take a while to fully recharge, at least 4 hours. I leave it overnight. Newer technology might be faster to recharge. I'm not in a rush.
For the price, performance, and energy density, this unit is a perfect compromise from a trusted brand.

Naked Power Core 1000 is amazing.First, the initial charge out of package was about 25%. It takes about 90-2 hours to charge per 25%, but I let it charge overnight so exactly how long I am unsure but I did pull the plug at the 90 minute mark because I needed it. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to charge my iPhone from 20% to full while occasionally still using it.It comes with a mesh bag which I store the charging cord that plugs in the side, picture, not the USB like I tried to do, and plug the USB into a USB charger. I also throw my iPhone charger in the case with in so I’m not running around looking for it.There are two “speeds” which my only complaint is the slightly confusing directions. The charger can be slowed down by pressing the power button twice or holding it for two seconds. It is useful for your gentler electronics like smart watches and earphones. The first light turns green in this mode from it’s normal blue. According to the directions it stays like this for two hours or hit the power mode again useThis is a great product , no complaints
