I have used this protein powder for over six months and it has never had such a taste! Obviously it is stored in a non climate controlled environment . The protein powder smells and taste like the plastic container. Understandable that this is nonrefundable as it is a food however, I should be given the option for a replacement sent to me. I have contacted the manufacturer directly and will order from them moving forward.

I've been buying Sunwarrior protein powders for years, specifically the warrior blend. I've allergies & they seem to increase as I get older, so I decided to try rice protein instead. I can't taste anything but the stevia in this mix! (Chocolate flavor.) I don't know how people can even taste the rice protein. I taste stevia, stevia, and yuck, more bitter-sacchariney stevia! There's hardly enough chocolate flavor to overpower it. Not even the vanilla flavor of Sunwarrior warrior blend (which contains stevia) tastes this bad. I'm glad I bought a small container. I think I'm going to stick with the natural/unflavored versions.

Sunwarrior, please take a hint: allulose and / or monk fruit sweeteners are a LOT nicer on the taste buds!

This rice based protein powder was not my favorite thing to drink and I still don't particularly look forward to drinking it but it digests well for me without any bloating or stomach upset. The powder has a light brown color and likes to clump just a bit. In a shaker bottle it mixes well with a light foam on top. There is however a soft micro pulp-like texture that almost gives me the feeling of something dry as I am drinking it. The taste is pretty decent with a earthy sweet chocolate.
