Works fine, note for anyone who is hardwiring this. Great unit, compact too. Boombox Project.

Works fine, note for anyone who is hardwiring this. Great unit, compact too. Boombox Project.
I used this to convert a boombox that ran on 6 D cells (9V total) to a rechargeable usb battery pack. Works great but I did have an issue, once I stripped back the wiring I had a solid white and solid black wire. Generally for DC wiring I would assume black is ground, but in this case it was power. Luckily I didn't hurt anything but for anyone hardwiring this to something, plug this into a USB port first and test voltage with your multimeter to make sure you have the polarity right, I'm not gonna dock a star as this unit wasn't meant to be hardwired and would work fine in it's normal use case. I also added a bluetooth module into the boombox wired to this too with a switch, then wired to where the outputs of the original tape preamp was. Everything works great, my Anker Powercore 10000 mAh battery pack does not shut off when this is plugged in, it detects the draw and stays on, I've had the stereo powered up for hours at a time without trouble. This is a great cable to use for converting anything that originally ran on 9V (6 C/D cells, 9V alkaline battery, etc) to a rechargeable lithium USB pack, just check polarity and power draw first. Great product. You can see where this unit runs into the original battery compartment and plugs into the new USB pack in my photos.

I have had this adapter cable for a few weeks and so far I have used it almost every day.
I have had no issues with noise like some of the reviews mention. Another issue that a buyer had was that there was nothing to keep the battery pack from shutting off if no pedals were activated for a bit. In my opinion this is a good thing as it saves the battery life. And chances are while you're using it at least one pedal will be engaged.
I use this with a One-Spot daisy chain to power a small pedalboard that I bring to a friend's house. So far the chain I've used was: EQD Hizumitas > Mosky Golden Horse > EQD Plumes > Empress Echosystem > Strymon Blue Sky. The last four pedals were on the whole time. I used a 10000 mAh battery pack and after 2.5 hours I had only used 25% of the battery. Again, no noise or any other issues.
I also find this really useful to learn a new pedal. I recently bought a Red Panda Tensor, which has a lot going on. So I used this adapter with a battery pack to run a Boss RC-20XL Looper > Tensor > Joyo Cab Box, record a loop, and put the small board on the table with the loop running so I can read the manual and fiddle with the knobs with headphones on. You could do this with a wall wart but this adapter makes it so simple.
This adapter is also really great if you want to test a pedal at a different spot in the chain. It makes it very easy to move it around.
Another use I could see is if you're going to buy a used pedal, you could bring this to plug in and test it. You could even power an amp like the Boss Katana Mini with it to be able to play on the go.
Yeah, so I highly recommend this thing. For the $9 it may have the best cost to utility ratio of anything on your pedalboard.

A fantastic little solution. Power your pedal(s!) from a power bank! Or your laptop! Or the USB port on, say, the train!

Voltage is rock steady at 9.0v on the unit I received. Polarity is tip-negative as you'd want for pedals. And the only possible concern is that it does stick out from the USB port a fair bit, making it potentially accident-prone in the wrong environment.

Other than that, works very well. An excellent backup option, or a way to power that one must-have pedal for the amp by your couch.

This cable is great if you are planning to use it as a tester for pedals. HOWEVER, it is very important to know that if you are planning to use this to try to go portable with your rig and use it with a portable charger, it will only stay on for less than a minute. I tried this with various portable chargers from different companies, and they all perform an auto-off feature that cuts power to the pedal. Not sure if it's due to the power pull and for safety purposes, but unfortunately that's the reality. The best way to utilize this is through a usb outlet adapter or if you just plan to use the pedal for an extremely short amount of time. Another possibility is if you have a wireless speaker with a usb charger on it, but I have yet to try that. Just a heads up because I know I'm not the only person who thought of doing this.

I tried using this cable with several power banks in an attempt to run an Orange Micro Crush mini amp which requires 9v 500ma. The amp worked, but with way too much hiss and squealing to be usable. I'm not sure if my cable is defective, but it definitely did not work as advertised.

Great product for those times you need it which is more often then not. Quality is good, it arrived quickly, and performs exactly as advertised. In fact I bought a second shortly afterward.

I enjoy camping, but evening nights in Southern Texas can be hot and humid. The mosquitos will eat you alive so I needed a fan to keep the air moving inside the tent.

This adapter allows me to connect a power bank, typically used for phones, directly to the DC input in a fan. I use a solar panel to charge a power bank during the day and just plug it in for all night coolness. It sure keeps me from constantly buying batteries.

If you purchase, check out the polarity of the plug. The dc center pin is either positive or negative. For my fan this adapter ran it in reverse greatly reducing the fan’s effectiveness. Never fear there are dc polarity reversers on Amazon for $5. Works great
