I’ve been getting into hot yoga a lot this year, and wanted to treat myself to a good yoga mat. I like how this one is very sustainable And environmentally friendly. I love the two sides, but I mainly use the grip side. I have very much enjoyed it using this during my hot yoga class, I’ve been using it for several months now and every time I use it I’m always so happy that I purchased it! Portable straps included make it so easy to carry in and out of the class. Highly recommend purchasing it, you will not regret. Very easy to clean and just thick enough for good support!

I am especially picky on my yoga mats, so it took a while to find another one when my old one got really dingy. I decided to go with this one because 1)it’s eco friendly, and made from recycled plastics 2)the colors are beautiful 3)it’s long, so I can do more elongated poses and not be off the mat 4)from previous reviews, it doesn’t slip which is a problem because I do many different forms of yoga and I need something that will cater to all of them. This mat is a wonderful buy! It’s comfortable and thin, so I can still do my balancing poses without wobbling, and it’s sticky so I don’t move when I do my hot yoga or my flow yoga! They also are environmentally conscious, so when they sent the mat, EVERYTHING was recyclable. They also send a cute little piece of paper with the mat that you plant and it turns into a flower! I enjoy this mat because it’s exactly what I was looking for, and it’s really durable.

So, I am coming from a Jade Yoga mat which I loved and owned for many years. I wanted a newer clean mat and started researching. I didnt go back to Jade because I wanted a more eco-conscious and friendly mat. I found Ajna and took the leap and fell in love!! This mat does not smell at all. It was perfect right out of the box (which is really pretty too!). It has just as much grip as my Jade on both sides and it is really cool that I have 2 sides to choose from now. I do not practice sweaty hot yoga so I cant say if it works under those conditions.....if it doesnt I would suggest practicing Yoga instead of trying to push the envelope and kill yourself doing aerobic yoga and sweating so much in the first place!! This mat is comfortable in all poses and grips when needed. It is priced right, and is quite pretty too (I love the sand color) and they plant a tree for my purchase which is fantastic, so it is pretty much the best mat around!! I am in love and would highly recommend it for anyone from beginner to advanced!

Originally was using a Gaiam 68x24 reversible mat with a design. I do yoga, vinyasa flow, 2 times a week. My boyfriend decided to take yoga up with me so I gifted him my mat and decided i would get a new one. I researched a ton of mats but couldn't make a decision. Jade and Manduka were SO heavy and thinner than Gaiam which I had no complaints of except too short for me being 5'9".I tried the extra-long and wide Gaiam and loved the size but was slipping all over the place. I found this odd because i didn't have any issue with my other Gaiam mat- which I assumed was the same. So Tried this mat-based on reviews.
PROS:
1. Yes it's as pretty as it looks. I got the light pink sand color.
2. 72-inch length is SO nice- esp for a taller person. I am no longer off my mat for all my downward dogs/chataranga etc.
3. the mat itself doesn't slide and neither do your feet.
4. lightweight and comes with FREE carrying strap
5. airs out any smell after the initial 24 hours easily just leave it laid out

CONS:
1. ITCHY- biggest complaint- however- that's what I assume you can expect with the jute.... so childs pose was a little uncomfortable on my forehead same with resting after lotus. It's weird how it doesn't itch my feet or hands but only my face.
2. You can feel the foam of the mat condense/ leave an imprint with pressure more than other mats.
3. its a little under the 24 inches wide.

for the price it's pretty good. I will probably keep it for now and maybe get another in the future,

I fell in love all over again with this yoga mat when I discovered it's reversible! I really enjoy the natural earthy feel of the textured side but flipping to the non-slip backing was a blessing last night when I felt far too lazy to hug in against the sliding effect that comes with breaking in a new mat. The label is attached in a way that it wraps around to be displayed on both sides.

This mat is surprisingly light. It has good padding for your knees and it's thin enough to still feel grounded in standing poses. I often walk to yoga so having a light mat is important and the carry strap it comes with is a nice bonus.

The main thing I wanted in a yoga mat was to be free from chemicals, especially since reading the book Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life by Dr Clauda Welch. In it she says ‘If it smells toxic, it probably is’ This was a red flag for me as every time I’d lay facedown on my old PVC mat I’d smell the fumes (even after over a year of use). There is no smell at all from the Ajna yoga mat. I can now rest easy and breathe in deep in childs pose :) This is a beautifully crafted mat that is truly enjoyable to practice on.

Das Material riecht nur leicht am Anfang und fühlt sich nicht so kalt an wie Kautschuk. Die Sand Farbe ist sehr schön und beruhigend. Für Leute die sehr wenig schwitzen ist die Matte gut aber noch nicht optimal.
Das Material geht ein bisschen nach wie z. B. bei herabschauenden Hund und da ist die Frage wie lange diese Matte halten wird. Noch dazu fühlt sich die Jute leicht rau besonders am Knie. Vielleicht hätte ich die behalten wenn sie makellos gewesen wäre. Wars leider nicht(siehe Fotos). Schade.
