a little disappointed
I know I’m comparing apples to oranges here but I think this is a know before you buy issue.I understand these are lightweight, light duty cutters but I bought them to put in an off-road tool kit for emergency situations. Sometimes, when in such situations, one must ask a tool to go beyond its design limitations. These Igance cutters only open to 3/16”, while my old Xcelite cutters open to a full 3/4”. I have, in the past, had to nibble through a heavy gage wire and the old reliable Xcelite cutters have gotten the job done. You may ask why I don’t carry a large pair of end cutters, weight. I try to keep the dune buggy as light as possible, and space is limited.All that said, if you want these cutters for light electronic work they should be OK.

I purchased the IGAN-170 Flush Wire Cutters specifically for my 3D printing projects, mainly to cut plastic (PLA) and cable ties. Initially, these cutters were fantastic. They delivered flawless cuts every time, making my work much more efficient and precise.
However, after a year of use, I've noticed a significant decline in their performance. The cutting edge, which was once sharp and durable, now appears soft and worn out. Even with light use, the cutters struggle to perform as they did when they were new.
As you can see in the photo, the cutting edge is no longer holding up, which is disappointing given their initial performance. While these cutters started strong, their longevity leaves much to be desired. If you need something for short-term use, they might work well, but for long-term durability, you might want to consider other options.
