Product works as advertised.
Installed it to monitor the power consumption of my 2024 Volvo XC60 recharge.
Not difficult to install, the plastic case and the split CT is not robust but if you treat it gently, not a problem.
I mounted it to the wall next to the 240 volt outlet using velcro tape since the unit is light plastic.
The display is very bright, no problems reading it offering you important information.
As for the split CT, it should clip fine to the wire. To make sure it wouldn't accidentally open, I used a plastic wire tie.
The split CT wires were not long enough for my application but I extended it an additional three feet using a cheap extension chord wire with no problems. I crimped the splice but you can also solder them for a mechanically secure connection.
The manual is a little confusing but if you follow the schematic you can easily figure it out.
Just remember that for the unit to the unit to do its thing, it must be supplied with whatever voltage you're trying to measure. In my case it was 240 volts. Make sure you properly isolate the wires to avoid getting zapped.
My take; it's plenty of bang for the buck and very useful if you want to know how much is costing you in energy to run your appliances.

I loved this power meter so much, I bought two more!!
A few facts:* I am only talking about the "AC 100A Meter(Split Core Transformer)" style; the other 3 styles you can order from this page look dramatically different and no doubt have extremely different functionality, so don't rely on customer reviews or answers that do not specify which style they bought; also, it is probably a good idea to specify the style you are considering purchasing if you are asking a question on here. (Or not, you decide.)* You will have to supply your own leads to connect directly to the power source. The wires and alligator clips you see in the pictures are my own.* CONCLUSION: Don't. Assume. Anything. Ever.A few opinions:* NEGATIVE: This meter does not keep track of the amount of time that has passed since the watt-hours were reset, so you will have to mark down the time somehow if you intend to calculate daily/monthly energy costs.* POSITIVE: This meter survives power outages without losing track of watt-hours used, which every power meter should do and is a huge benefit in areas like mine where the power goes out frequently and I cannot monitor the power daily.* CONCLUSION: Just buy a couple of these and you'll be happy you did.* NOTE: I live in very rural Florida, USA--notice the electobraid in the pictures which implies that I have horses grazing in my front yard--so code violations and permits are basically non-existant. So, please don't leave comments regarding code violations from my pictures or assume that I was the person who made them. Also, please don't flame me because you assume to know my political persuasion: My family is divided politically and religiously (it would blow your mind if I explained it all), and we still get along super-well because we all love and respect one another, thank you very much. This posting is about electrons, not people.220-volt measurements:* I saw conflicting answers regarding the measurement of 220-volt (or 240-volt... whatever, I get it) in places like the United States where there is a neutral wire that divides the voltage in half. My use case is a main panel that supplies power to a sub-panel in my workshop where some circuits are 110-volt and some are 220-volt. (NOTE: The voltage between the red and black wires is 220 volts, and the white wire is the neutral that is halfway in between. Thus, red to white is 110 volts and black to white is 110 volts, albeit at opposite phases but what the heck the appliances are stupid and don't really care about phases.)* I have 3 of these devices, so I am able to show my results in real time. Ignore the watt-hour numbers in my photos, because the meters were reset at different times. Pay attention only to the volts, amps, and watts. (I'll look it up later so I become a supposed expert, but right now I really do not understand what power factor even means. I am pretty smart and was literally at the top of my class in my 300-level college electronics course, so I know what I know and I know that I don't know everything.)* Everybody who answered the question about measuring 220 in this situation (at the time I read it) agreed that you should put the power leads on both ends (red and black) of the 220 circuit, so in all 3 samples the power leads stay in the same place.* Of course, if you have an appliance (like my air conditioner or my well pump) that only uses 220 and doesn't use the neutral line at all, you could simply span the red and black wires and ignore the white wire. But for subpanels where there is a mix of these appliances and circuits, this is not so simple.* Results when the coil was on the black side (and the #3 power leads were spanning the red and black): * #1 black-side meter (left): 120 V, 5.2 A, 585 W * #2 red-side meter (right): 122 V, 0.3 A, 22.5 W * #3 red/black meter (middle): 242 V, 0.3 A, 46.1 W * #1 PLUS #2 = 607.5 W, not 46.1 W!!!* Results when the coil was on the red side (and the #3 meter power leads were spanning the red and black): * #1 black-side meter (left): 120 V, 5.5 A, 615 W * #2 red-side meter (right): 122 V, 0.3 A, 22.5 W\ * #3 red/black meter (middle): 242 V, 5.6 A, 1.25 kW * #1 plus #2 = 637.5 W, not 1.25 kW!!! (OMG, Becky!)* Results when the coil was on the white side (and the #3 meter power leads were spanning the red and black)... what the heck, this sort of answers the question of whether current flows on the neutral or not (SPOILER ALERT, it does, why else would it be made of copper): * #1 black-side meter (left): 121 V, 5.3 A, 593(5?, thanks Siri!!!) W * #2 red-side meter (right): 122 V, 0.3 A, 22.6 W * #3 red/black meter (middle): 243 V, 5.1 A, 1.16 kW * #1 plus #2 = 617.6 W, not 1.16 kW!!!* CONCLUSION: It is unpossible to accurately measure a split voltage system with a single meter. If you put the coil on one end (black) or the other (red) you will get the correct amperage for that side but it will inaccurately multiply that by the total voltage and overstate the watts. If you put the coil in the middle, you will get the larger of the two amperages from either side multiplied by the total voltage and (IMO) overstate the watts (maybe?).* QUESTION: My dad always told me you "pay" for the other side even if you're not using it, so you should balance out the 110-volt circuits as much as you can to maximize your cost. Is that true?* OBVIOUS CONCLUSION: I have gone to all the trouble of buying 3 units and giving you all of the facts (backed by photos), so you should not give me a thumbs down even if you completely disagree with anything I have said. You should give me a huge thumbs-up and politely state your disagreements with me to make yourself feel better, look smart to everyone else, and actually educate me in the process. Thanks, and G-d bless.

Very accurate, easy to install, and it is so helpful to understand the energy usage from various pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, and appliances in my house. Using the PZEM together with a Raspberry Pi (RPi), I can monitor and track energy consumption and also send alerts to my cell phone when abnormal conditions are detected. For example, when a pool pump or sump pump fails, an alert can be sent to your cell phone. The Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 can monitor multiple PZEM modules on a sub-second interval and still only uses a fraction of the performance of the RPi. I am also running a software defined radio and other software at the same time with no performance issues. The Python source code is on BrucesHobbies on GitHub: https://github.com/BrucesHobbies/energyMaster
The code displays current information including voltage, current, power, energy, and power factor for multiple PZEM modules. It also displays the present and last user defined interval. I am using 15 minute intervals. Also today’s and previous day’s information are displayed. The log is saved to a Comma Separated Variable (CSV) file which can be imported to a spreadsheet or used with the example Python plotting script. Options are provided to log the data to other databases. It will also publish the data using MQTT.
I started out with one PZEM module and made a portable setup with an outlet and power cord that I can move from one appliance to another to see how much energy was being used. I then realized the tremendously huge value of full time monitoring of sump pumps, pool pumps, etc. and placed one module for each pump motor, air conditioner, etc. The RS-485 low voltage twisted pair wiring makes it easy to put the PZEM devices up to 300 meters (1,000 feet) from the RPi. Installation of the current transformer was as simple as attaching the split-core current transformer around a wire. Line voltage is needed as well. Very simple for those familiar with electricity, but I would recommend that you contact an electrician if you don’t know how to use electricity safely. The measured values compared very favorably to another power meter that I had.
There are several alert algorithms. One is a basic self-learning algorithm which I use with my sump pump to detect a frozen over outside discharge pipe. The other is a manual configuration of limit levels which I use with a pool pump as the power consumed varies depending on when I last cleaned the pool filter. It is an open source Python project on GitHub so collaboration and recommendations for new algorithms are encouraged.
I would highly recommend the PZEM module. Shipment was fast. Great product!

The meter is very functional. It works by clamping around the live wire like a clamp meter, but unlike a clamp meter you can read all the info at a glance without having to switch through modes. Far as I can tell it is very accurate. The power it consumes to run itself is so small it doesn't register on itself. The biggest load I used it on was a water heater rated at 2,500 watts. It displayed "2.51 kW". I have the heater wired so I can power it by a generator if need be. The heater turns on and off regularly and I use to gauge it's status by the sound the generator was making at the time, but sometimes it was hard to tell. Now I can tell by simply looking at the meter.
My first impression was that it is very tiny compared to it's photo, but once it turns on the numbers are very easy to read. Some features are: 1. You can turn the back light on/off; 2. It remembers the watt-hours between power breaks; 3. You can reset the watt-hours to 0 anytime; 4. You can set a watt threshold alarm so if your watts exceed this amount you will know (I haven't exceed mine as yet so I can't comment).
My only problem, and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is the wiring diagram isn't exactly clear because it depicts only one type of outlet, not different types for different areas. Meanwhile, the manual sheet says that the wiring order can't be wrong but does not say what will happen if it is wrong (will it simply not work or will it explode?), so you don't know if it's safe to do it one way and if it don't work just do it the other way. The diagram also doesn't show the clamp wire colors so if the clamp screws loosen and you have to rewire what do you do (I made my own color diagram). The manual sheet takes up a lot of space showing every conceivable dimension of the meter and I feel rather that so many dimensions it could show different outlet types for different areas. Another confusing thing is the order in which resetting the watt hours and setting the threshold alarm is explained. Since they both require long presses you are led to believe the w-h comes before the alarm but it's the opposite. But I must say for a Chinese product the English is very good. Normally, English manuals for Chinese products are a headache to interpret.
I enhanced my unit by attaching a normal plug to the power supply terminals (the two terminals other than the clamp, wires not supplied with the unit) so rather than cut into the appliance wires (as the diagram suggests) I can just plug into a nearby household outlet or extension cord. If you do this make sure you know exactly what is live and neutral in your house wiring. Like I said about the manual, I had to take a leap of faith. You do have to expose the live wire of your appliance to clamp around (the clamp is too small to fit around one of line splitters for testing ac amps) but you don't have to cut through the insulation to expose the metal.

Funciona par 2 fases de 120V
Bewertet in Mexiko am 12. Oktober 2021Stil: 1 x AC 100 A Messgerät (geteilter Kern-Transformator)Verifizierter Kauf

Used this for my (plug and play) solar array to measure wattage input to the grid.
Mounted it in a plastic electronics box with short M+F extension power leads, and so far it works great.
Will have to get some more as I will have to separate some of my inverters so that the input doesn't go over 10 amps on the leads. It's great that you can turn off the backlight. Stuart (Australia)
