Why can't I charge it? why would it flash a purple light when I charge it?
The light head is loosened to disconnect from the battery inside to avoid accidental shipping activation just for safety reasons. Please SCREW DOWN the light head tightly and make sure the tail cap is connected well with the battery tube.
-
Why does the TC15 V3 not switch on even after a full charge?
It seems like the TC15 V3 is in lockout mode. Please press and hold the side switch to unlock the flashlight. Otherwise, please SCREW DOWN the light head tightly and make sure the tail cap is connected well with the battery tube and charge it again.
-
When I turn the full power he gets really really hot. Is that normal?
Yes. It’s normal in all flashlights of this kind when your in high or turbo mode. The bigger the lumens the higher the heat. To protect the battery, driver circuit and LED, we Do NOT recommend you run the light at max mode more than ten minutes.
-
What should do once the flashlight get super hot?
You must monitor the heat of the light with your bare hands during operation. If the light becomes too hot to hold at the hottest area then you must turn down 1 or more level or OFF for the light to cool down.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2021Color: TC15 V3 Black NWVerified PurchaseI have had this light for over a year Its not perfect but for the price its a great light!!! The pictures are of low medium high and turbo the fence is 25 yards the wood shed is 50 yards the granary is 82 yards and the square piece of tin is at 120 yards. I can see better with my eye than you can see in the pictures.
I can see fairly well out to 150 yards on turbo. You can see reflective objects further. I can see reflectors on liniator poles along the road for more than 600 yards.
I have purchased 2 more of the thrunight tc15 and compared it side by side to the old one and the old is still just as bright it hasn't dimmed at all. The older one has more of a blue tint to it and the new ones have more of a yellow tint to them as shown in the picture.
The lanyard feels excellent the packaging it comes in is extremely professional. It also comes with a sheath to carry it in. I had it fall out and so I don't trust the sheath. I pocket carried this light for a long time and now have made a leather sheath for it with my Leatherman.
The first thing to do is cut the tab off of the rubber cap for the charging port (as shown in image) I found it would snag on my pocket and open it. So I cut it off and haven't had any issues since and its still easy to open.
The batteries last a long time in just over a year of daily use I have only had to charge it like 3 times. It is the most useful thing I carry everyday. I love the memory setting the diffrent brightness levels.
I find the firefly mode to be extremely useful. Its perfect for combination locks, reading, around horses, and anything you want to do without blinding yourself with how bright this flashlight can be.
CONS:/WISHES: I really wish it had a two way clip to hook it on my hat when working in the dark.
The button to turn it on and off can be hard to find. I index my clip so that it is exactly opposite of the button to help when trying to find it in the dark. While this helps it would be nicer to have a button on the back end.
The sheath
It can be tricky to get it to go to strobe. I find it is 4 fast clicks not 3 as advertised.
If you are still reading then you should just buy this light you won't regret it. I've now bought 3.
Everyone I show it to has asked me where they can get one. For black Friday it drops to 44 bucks .

- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2018Color: TC15 V3 Black NWVerified PurchaseGreat little flashlight. I love the brightness and size. It's very easy to use and very easy to switch between the many different modes. I already have many 18650 batteries and several battery chargers, but I love that I can just hookup a micro USB to charge it. I wish it was USB-C, but that's because my cell phones for the past 2+ years have been USB-C so I have many of those laying around (I still have plenty of micro USB cables because of many other things that still use micro USB like my bluetooth wireless headphones, etc).
The one star reviews are from people that didn't take out the little piece of plastic that is between the anode (battery pin) and the battery terminal that probably was put there to prevent it from being turned on while in the box. The people that did not figure this out before they decided to post a 1 star review look a bit foolish to me. In my opinion, it makes those reviewers appear to lack a little bit of logic, reason and common sense. As soon as you plug in the charger (before removing the tiny piece of plastic between the anode and the terminal) the light will start blinking purple. That means "abnormal charging," and is stated in the instructions. As soon as I plugged in the charger and saw the blinking purple light I knew that it was charging abnormally because I read the instructions before I even plugged in the micro usb to begin charging. I quickly realized that something might be wrong with the battery, so I took out the battery and saw the small plastic circle between the anode and the light. So, I removed the little plastic circle and plugged in the micro USB again. Once plugged in, the light was red, notifying me that the battery was charging. Instantly, I felt foolish for not opening up and looking at the battery before I tried use it or to charge it. I can only imagine how foolish the reviewers that only gave this 1 star must feel. I guess that's why I always wait more than 10 minutes before I post a review on something... especially if something like the blinking purple led or the fact that the light works while plugged in (but only in 2 different modes/intensities), but it doesn't work when unplugged, would make me think that I am doing something wrong or that something specific needs to be done before it will work correctly. I certainly wouldn't give it 1 star without trying to figure out what the problem is or calling customer service or doing a quick internet search, etc first. I only write reviews after I've spent a few weeks using it first.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019Color: TC15 V3 Black CWVerified PurchaseI do HVAC and use my lights in pitch black, dark and dirty places. I used to buy some more expensive lights from other brands a few years back, but since I found Thrunite I’ve been sticking with them, and have had little to no issues with all of them. I’ve dropped em, had em bang around in the work truck, gotten wet in my pocket, used them in -65F Minnesota blizzards, etc.
The TC15 is slightly smaller than their TN12 which was my all around favorite EDC light for years. I sold probably 50 of my friends and co workers on that light. This one is just an upgrade on that in every way; waterproof to 6 feet, better on/off activation and switching between modes, and BEST OF ALL.. rechargeable. I love being able to charge this off of my battery pack that I keep in a fatboy pocket organizer. No more carrying around a bulky AC charger. This light looks absolutely beautiful in person.. pics don’t do the burnt bronze finish justice.
My only gripe is that the advertised 2300 lumens only lasts for 2 minutes before the light steps down in power to 1050 lumens to protect the internals from overheating. While I understand the need for this feature, and I understand many flashlight companies do this.. I probably wouldn’t have jumped on this light right now, had I realized that. Then again, 1050 lumens is more than sufficient but I already have 2 tn12’s that max out at 1050 lumens. So while it wasn’t a completely necessary upgrade for me right now, I still really love this light and would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have an EDC light that goes over 1000 lumens. I’ll be using this extensively on an upcoming fishing trip and I’ll make sure to report back with any updates.
