These are great speakers. The clarity they provide is outstanding. When you sit to listen to music you feel la the band is just there playing for you. The soundstage provided is excellent. These speakers are fast and provided exceptional midrange. Totally worth every penny

Preface: I'm an audio enthusiast and can tell SQ differences but don't consider myself a true audiophile.

My current setup of reference for listening:
    Marantz 7012 AVR
    Blue jeans cables
Martin Logan Motion 12s with folded tweeters --> replaced now by ARIAs
    Dual Subs (ML)

So ordered these without auditioning them, which was a big concern initially. I tried to audition FOCALs at the local dealers but the closest I could listen to were Kanta's and Chora's driven via McIntosh 5300. Next stepped into local BB and auditioned KEF R3's and B&W 705 S2 bookshelf speakers driven by Mac5300 followed by KEF R11s which were in the same cost range as Focal 926 (current selection). I was leaning to KEF's R3, reading the glowing reviews of the UniQ drivers but hearing them at the BB did not sound their best (possibly the space & Amp pairing). R11's were bit better with the full sound and yet the silky treble seemed illusive.

    Aria HT review:
First thing I immediately noticed after swapping the MLs and running Audessey setup on 7012 was these bad boys have deeper bass for Movies and rattle my house even though I did not touch the bass settings in the AVR or the subs. I had to enable bass reduction feature and reduce the gain on the subs. Mainly movies are streamed from Netflix/prime/hulu via XBOX and AVR runs ATMOS, so they sound as good as Blu-ray

    2.1 review:
Airplay to Marantz from Apple Music sounds fantastic. I've tried other sources but Airplay sounds the best. I tried direct play/pure play modes (which cut out subs), and bass is a bit too low for my taste in these modes. Leaving the AVR isn stereo, the ARIAs sound exquisite. Treble is airy, silky (just as I like it) and light, mids are clear and crisp, bass is filled out by the subs & deeper low end of ARIAs. The setup sounds well balanced and I can listen on for hours.

Compared to above B&W, KEFs, ML, these ARIAS sound slightly more nuanced & crisp (listening environment may be at play). Overall, I'm sold on the Focals both for SQ and the build quality!

Next up looking for a good AMP to pair with Arias for my 2.1/HT bypass setup!

After many reviews of experts and web description, I had such a high hope and excitement. Once arrived, I played right away and very disappointed. The vocal is very thin and not appealing. Each component of instrument was reasonably detailed, but the music as a whole lacks the musicality and not enjoyable. It almost feels like each component is doing its own and there is no cohesiveness to the music. Tried many different genre of music and none was impressive. I have $400 bluetooth speaker and the Focal did not sound any better. I was using Audiolab 6000 A and 6000 N to stream the music - not impressive. Also tried CD- n
same musical character presented. This may be a good speaker in terms of reproducing details, however, it is far from my liking in terms of listening fun and excitement. I requested a return.

    12/1/20 Update
I was listening to amazon music that is free for prime member. As I was very disappointed with quality of music I get from the service, I decided to try qobuz music stream service to see whether it would make any difference. Honestly, I did not expect any real change. My thinking was that although qobuz claims that it streams CD quality audio., since I am using my phone , it should made no real difference. I was wrong. Focal came to life with music from qobuz and listening to music became much more fun and exciting. I still have a problem with vocal, which is still very shy, thin and not forwarding. I am not sure whether it is due to the amp or speaker. Therefore I decided to try different amp and I ordered Arcam SA 20 which has many good reviews. Once I try Arcam, I will decide what to do with speaker. If it produce the vocal sound that I can be satisfied with, then this is a keeper. Otherwise, I have to think very hard whether to return or try other amp to make it happen. Again, Focal is great in reproduction of detail. I guess there is no speaker that can check every category

I was a bit hesitant to buy these speakers because my previous experience was with B&W and Klipsch. Having seen the advantages of horn speakers, I feared I could have with Focal the same problems I had with B&W: a kind of boxy, unengaging sound, with a laid back soundstage and poor dynamism. Besides, I had in my system tube amplifiers which delivered only 25W of power. With Klipsch, this was not a problem, as they are extremely sensitive. Would it be a problem with the not so sensitive Focals? I decided to take my chances. What a positive surprise! These speakers love tubes and have all the qualities of my Klipsch speakers without the flaws (such as tonal inaccuracy and lack of bass). They don't have the setbacks of B&W either, although they have their qualities. Besides tonal accuracy and balance across all the frequencies, I found with these a wonderful soundstage, tight and punchy bass (even with tubes), and lots of dynamism. Vocals sound sublime, with extreme realism, and instruments simply sound right, with lots of detail. To sum up, these are wonderful speakers which match very well with not so powerful tube amplifiers. My only caveat is that they may sound bright with solid state amplifiers, but this is only an educated guess based on their characteristics. I tried them with an integrated SS marantz and, although they didn't sound as good as with my tube amps, they didn't sound bad at all. So, I guess the most important thing is to have a good match with your amp, as they are very revealing of what comes in. Another positive thing: the seller shipped them very fast.
