first project is strengthening my phone plug at the weak point.
this heatshrink is exactly what i expected. BETTER, in fact. it came in this awesome little case. many times you buy something like this online and it shows it in a case like this and it is not included. this time it IS INCLUDED.
this is good quality heatshrink.
the shrinkage and adhesion is as it should be.
this project required splitting (sliced vertically) a few smaller, different sized sections of tubing. the adhesive allowed it to stick to the surface underneath. it DOES curl out if you slice it like this. but it is generally moldable when hot back where it needs to be. then i covered it with a whole tube.
the sheerness of this product is not clear once heated. HOWEVER, i believe this is because i used a barbecue lighter open flame. i believe it caused a small amount of soot to discolor this heatshrink.
it is very clear. if using a source of heat other than open flame, it will very likely be clear as designed. not invisible, but transparent.
once cooled, it becomes firm, but still mildly flexible.
i feel confident that any use of this product will protect the area where it is used properly.
