Perfect for mouth taping

This works fantastic for mouth taping at night. The 1" width was never quite enough stick; my mouth would work its way open with it without fail. The 2" has perfect amount of surface area & stickiness level to stay in place overnight. I was even able to reuse the piece without issue. No stickiness left on the face, and my sensitive skin hasn't suffered for it.

Not good for mouth taping

This tape is okay on regualr skin, but too harsh for lip skin. I tried sticking it several times to my arms to lesson the amount of adhesive, and also putting a light coating of coconut oil on and around my mouth before using it, but it still peeled at my lip skin when I removed the tape.

It's truly gentle and easy to remove. I only wear it for working out and around the house during the day, so I don't know how it would work for sleeping. The cost on Amazon is around the same price as my local grocery store (Vons). But it's still a lot cheaper than the special mouth taping stickers and does the same job.

Brand names became brand names because they make products that are better than the competition, and this is a prime example. There are a lot of manufacturers of paper tape out there, but I have yet to find one (I'm a doc) that does a better job of balancing adhesion and painless removal with breathability than the 3M product. Yes, this is exactly what we use in the hospital, and yes, there's a reason. If you're stocking up, you need some of this, some plastic perforated tape (TransPore is the 3M brand if you want to go with the genuine article) and very little else.

If you have tough skin, this works great. I had surgery on nose and paper tape I had wouldn't stick, so ordered this. I have fragile thin skin. As you can see by picture, taking it off hurt skin under eye. I cannot use it.

This tape is so horrible. I had 3m paper tape from 2012 that stayed on my feet and came off without leaving any residue, so I read the inside of the roll, typed in the name, and expected this tape to be the same. I read reviews all of which said that it's easy to get it off, and recommendations from the seller saying to soak it in water before removing. Great!

It is not easy to remove. All I can think is that either 3m changed the formula drastically, or that my own 7-year-old tape "aged" pleasantly.

I use tape to hold together cracked foot callouses. I especially need it while running and during other workouts. This tape does stay on, I'll give it that. It will even stay on during my shower.

The problem is that it's doing this by means of industrial-strength glue. There are sticky glue-prints all over my tile and hardwood floors.

If I try to take off the tape before showering, it WILL. NOT. COME. OFF. It does move a little bit, though, or else the glue is being squeezed out from under the edges. The glue also penetrates through the paper, so the whole surface is sticky. So even if I decide to leave the tape on, I leave sticky footprints all over the house.

The seller answered a customer question about how to remove the tape by saying that it should be soaked in water first. True, the paper-part peels off very easily after it gets wet. But it leaves most of its glue behind on the skin.

One strategy I use is to leave the old tape in place, get out of the shower, and immediately apply a slightly bigger patch of tape, to cover the old tape plus the new outline of glue all around the previous patch. This works well on days when a callous is cracked open and bleeding and I'd rather not spend half an hour trying to remove the glue. Alert readers will see the problem: my feet are finite in size, while the glue patch constantly grows.

I pretty much can't go barefoot for even a few seconds, without having to clean glue off the floor. My socks are perpetually stuck to my feet. When I step out of the shower, my sticky feet drag the bathmat around. I can't do yoga for days after I've used the tape, or else my yoga mat gets covered in glue which then transfers to my clothing and of course, to the glue's favorite resting place, the floor. On the bright side, the glue is fairly easy to rub off the floor. 🤣

I work in cosmetic chemistry so I have access to lots of skin-friendly solvents. Even solvents that will take off the most stubborn 72-hour waterproof mascara will not completely remove the glue. The best I can expect is that the solvent will liquefy the glue a bit, at which point I can laboriously rub it off with a paper towel. But after doing this a few times, I decided that it's just not worth all the effort: my feet remain a bit sticky, but on top of it they are then also oily, so I have to scrub them with soap and water. The process is very wasteful of resources, and the result is not great: Somehow the combination of dissolving and then washing causes the glue to roll up into many somewhat-less-stick balls that then need to be picked off one by one and wiped onto a paper towel.

One technique that I use with varying success is based on the like-attracts-like principle: I dispense a new piece of tape, place it over the skin that has glue stuck to it, and rip the tape off, repeating over and over as though I'm giving myself a bikini wax. This process will usually remove most of the glue, but somehow I never get it all. Some days I only get a little bit off. The success of any given removal session may be related to how long the tape has been on my skin?

All techniques need to be combined with constant sock-wearing and floor-scrubbing. I wonder if I'm gradually accumulating glue in the washing machine....

Now, IF the tape were such that it were super-difficult to remove, but also didn't allow glue to penetrate through it or around its edges, I'd find it a very useful product. I wouldn't mind placing the tape and leaving it on for a couple of weeks.

I have done months of wound care on a foot. Once two years ago and now currently. I prefer the paper Micropore Surgical tape because it gives a little, shaping to the foot with just enough porosity for air. I LOVE the DISPENSER !!! I've used only the one, refilled it twice and it still cuts the tape perfectly at just the right length. A real TIME-SAVER. It old i think the back side the top of tape was all sticky from gummy part on bottom of sticky side. The top part of tape that was not supposed to be sticky was. From the glued part on top of other side. It felt like sticky on both sides of tape...it stuck but so did everything that touched the tape
On my bandage. Had lint and strings and even paper sticking to my bandages on lower left leg. But it did stick.... just problem with double sticky side on tape
Because it was so sticky it wouldn't peel off holder that came with it. Made scissors and my fingers all gluey too. Just think it was old .
