This distributor is well-made. It is heavy and does a great job of leveling the puck before tamping. It was considerably less expensive than many of the other brands and I don't know what they could provide that would be any better than this one. It fits the basket of my Breville Bambino perfectly. Glad I purchased this one.

Hands down the best tamper I have ever owned and the best priced available!I was skeptical it would be decent because of the price. And it turns out it is not, it is incredible! I know, I know, how great can it be when it is just a coffee tamper but this piece is solid, weighty machined steel coming in at almost 1lb. 3 piece construction allows you to set the depth for how much coffee you like to add and spin the top ring down to lock it into place. You get a perfectly tamped coffee every single time singe it actually sits on the rim of the portafilter and the shiny piece sits inside. After you fill the basket just press this in and turn a little clockwise and done. So can we talk about the fact that this is the CHEAPEST cost wise espresso tamper available anywhere, at least anywhere that I have looked. And for the cost the fact that what you are getting is such high quality! Easily unscrews for cleaning, though I just dust mine off. Fits perfectly in the hand and just takes seconds to adjustand unless switching baskets you don't need to adjust it or mess with it at all after that. I bought this for a Starbucks Barista machine, they all have 53mm baskets. Given the build quality of this thing I am certain it could be a long lived family heirloom.

This is a MUST have to level up your coffee game!
I have owned my Breville Expresso machine for six years and didn't think I needed any other accessories, but I wanted to level up my coffee game and went deep down a rabbit hole of coffee making. This distributor has honestly made a noticeable difference in the quality of the shots I can pull. After measuring my coffee using a dosing cup and putting it into the portafilter, this distributor allows for genuinely even distribution and pressure of the grinds in the basket. Without it, you're tamping the grinds but can have more and less compaction, and when you pull the shot, the pressurized water will find the path of least resistance and lead to a bitter taste. I'd recommend using a needle wisk to loosen the grinds first and then using this distributor to evenly distribute the grinds in the basket before tamping them down. When you first get this distributor, you'll have to calibrate the height to your portafilter, but that's quick and just a matter of loosening the top and adjusting the bottom part. This review is long enough but let's finish with the build quality. The base is beautifully machined and polished; the unit is quite heavy and feels solid. The top part is also precision machined and has a nice matte black finish; I am thrilled with this distributor! 5 stars all around except for the ease of cleaning since grinds seem to get stuck between the lip and base, but they clean up fairly quickly, not a big issue at all.This is a MUST have to level up your coffee game!Mackay
