This little unit does an OK to mediocre job maintaining my lawn... It was a more involved installation than as sold on their "happy videos" web site in that I had to really wok at burying the border wire under my St. Augustine grass; just staking it down o top did not work as there was the very real possibility of the machine cutting its own wire during operation. It took me considerably longer (several days) of focused work to get the wire and stakes in the ground to prevent wire snafus... They don't provide enough wire or stakes in the kit to outfit a standard sized yard either so you will need to purchase more (had to buy from another provider as Robomow had none available) before you attempt installation or be stalled waiting for them to be shipped and arrive... I specifically bought this little guy because it states - in blaring clarity - on the Amazon page that the RX20 has a rain sensor and I live in Houston where it rains a lot so having that feature was important. After a few months of wondering if I had not programmed it properly due to its recalcitrance for not returning to its base station when it rains I went on the Robomow website and there is a small asterisk stating that this unit does NOT have a rain sensor - more false advertising. This was a major ping for me and I'd like to send it back due to that false claim alone... The cutting in both directions is mediocre and the unit never seems to find its way around the yard to cut where it needs to based on a faulty algorithm - it's not very smart and does not learn so it continually will cut the same are and only once in a while find its way to where it actually needs to be... I could write more, but that's the gist. I would wait till better tech is available or perhaps upgrade to a more expensive unit. I went with this one as my yard is too small for a large unit to negotiate and this should have been ideal... I am not happy that Robomow clearly states that this unit has a rain sensor on Amazon and then says otherwise on their website in small print...

Terrible, you have to have perfect terrain. If you have any dips of ruts, the mower will stop. I had a older mower. Since 2003, worked great. Friendly Robotics sold to MTD. MTD stop supporting the older robots. Purchased this model. No where near the performance. They, MTD only support the newer models. All the older parts were scrapped into a dumpster. I do not recommend this model. I was trying to mow a small area. I will not work. I wasted $800.

It only worked for three times. Then there was a rain during night and I forgot to bring it in during the day. Next day it stopped working. With full battery, once pushing starting button, green light blinked 4 times, then red light is up and beeped three times, then nothing happens. There is nowhere to find what went wrong with it. Online trouble shooting page is useless without knowing what 3 beeps with red light mean.

I love robomow. This is my second. The first was a RS612 which is far superior to the RX20. It's much heavier and its two blades do a better job mowing. But the RX20 does a better job edging and is easier to carry to some non contiguous areas I have. The battery lasts about 2 hours, sufficient for a small yard.. I recommend the RX20 for flat, small yards. Well worth getting...I just sip a beer and let robomow do the work. Also worth noting is the silence. You can hardly hear it! If everyone had one the world would be a much quieter place.

To be honest this device never really works for us. It seem to operate intermittently for about three weeks. Then I give errors that indicated that the perimeter wire loop was faulty. We replaced this twice with no improvement. We tried to reach customer support but they were unreachable. The product never really works for us and was a waste ofMoney spent
