For those reviewers who couldn't figure out how to put them together, read the instructions - it's actually a very clever system - the upper section of pole has a locking mechanism which loack all sections tight.
I highly recommend these - they are a very good price for the quality.
Good price, efficient delivery.
I don't think that I would use these for heavy, mountain terrain, but, they're perfect for fields, trails and low hills. I have to cross a lot of water and mucky mud, the extra basket tips were very handy for this.
The poles popped right together intuitively. Actually, I peeked at the instructions after I had taken them out for their first use to find that I had assembled them correctly.
I am 5'11" tall and the height adjustment left me some space to go longer if needed. handgrips are very comfortable for a nice hike. Nice trekking poles for the money.
