The media could not be loaded.
1) Connect to your home Wi-Fi network. The LED button on the printer will change from orange to solid blue once connected. This is automatic and takes a minute or so.
2) Once the LED light turns blue on the printer, you ask Alexa to discover your printer.
3) After the printer is connected to Alexa, you can print a test page of Alexa commands you can use for the printer. I put this list on the side of my refrigerator until we learn more about the printer commands.
As you can see from my pictures, the print quality isn't as sharp as printing on a LaserJet printer, but it's legible, and fine for our purposes. As a couple other reviewers mentioned, the print quality improved with an update that I may not have gotten yet and also with other paper rolls now offered on Amazon. I will update my review after I get the new paper rolls. This is a new product, and all of us that have Amazon devices know that update are done automatically and will, in time, improve the functionality of the devices. The same is true of this printer.
In my opinion, this printer is a wonderful add-on to Alexa devices that makes some of the apps much more useful. Previous to this printer, the Shopping List App wasn't of much value to us. Sure, we could add and remove items to our shopping list, but had to view the list on phone or other device. My husband does all of the shopping and isn't much of a techy. So, he wasn't about to use the Alexa app to check the shopping list when he was shopping. He used a handwritten shopping list and added items as I told him I needed things. He then had to rewrite the list omitting items he bought. Now I can add items to the shopping list when I am cooking and use the last of something. My husband can easily print the list before he goes shopping. When he get home, he can ask Alexa to show him the shopping list and remove items he has bought. This is so much easier, and it does eliminate the exercise of running into the kitchen to add items to the list before he forgets what we need.
Since we are both in our 70's, my husband has been writing notes to remember things he needs to do the next day. This means finding the paper and pen to write the notes. Now, he can simple say "Alexa, print a note to call the plumber.", and the note prints for him to put on the kitchen table as a reminder.
I also want to mention that these sticky notes are not quite the same as the sticky note pads some of us are used to that have a sticky part on one end. The back of the sticky note paper rolls is slightly sticky and will stick to anything if you rub your hand over the note. I put one of these showing available commands on my refrigerator as a reminder of commands, and it sticks fine without leaving any residue.
Overall, we are very happy with this printer and use it primarily to print a shopping list. Lazy as it may seem, I no longer have to remember to add things we run out of on a paper shopping list. I am looking forward to future updates and functionality.
UPDATE 07/15/22:
I have had this printer for about 5 months, and it suddenly stopped working. The printouts were nothing more than a couple of vertical lines of blotches. Since this is a thermal printer, I knew it wasn't a problem with lack of ink. So, I called Amazon support. The representative deemed the printer as broken and not fixable, and gave me a full credit of my purchase price without having to return the printer.
Rather than throw the printer out, I decided to try different thermal paper. The new rolls of paper were the correct width, but the roll was much too large to put in this printer. Tenacious as I am, I took the Amazon thermal paper off the roll and rolled the new paper onto it, making two equal rolls. These fit the printer. When I tested the printer with the new paper, it printed perfectly - even better than it ever did with the original paper. If your printer stops printing with the original paper, it would be a good idea to try a different brand thermal paper before throwing out the printer.
