An outstanding overview and circling guide!

I don't always write a review for a product but when I do it means I was very compelled to or inspired to as a result of what I received! This book has a little bit of everything I was looking for in order to discern some stuck points. I'm not new to circling nor AR but I am newer to facilitating and it was helpful to see Marc's framework for his offerings. The other small but mighty section I am finding most insightful includes the distinctions between the different schools of circling(in the appendix) If you are geared toward a present moment, alive, relational-field oriented style of circle and you find yourself circling on a platform/tradition with little or no emphasis on technique, (so kinda anything goes), it can lead to confusion and eternal challenges amongst participants as there is often no agreed context. So helpful to know! All this to say, thanks, Marc!! Rockstar work.

I recently attended my first Circling meetup. I was so moved by the depth and power of the practice that I was unable to sleep afterwards. However, when my wife asked me the next morning, “what was it all about?” I struggled to explain what I had experienced. Then I found this guide. Marc Beneteau gives words to what is hard to express in language, crafting a beautiful, compelling guide that distills the essence of Circling and draws many useful distinctions. A good overview!

A good overview of the what Circling is and the core elements of practice. He outlines the different flavors of how it's practiced by the Circling Institute, the Integral Centre and Circling Europe so you get some sense of the breadth of the Circling world. Marc gives personal impact of what Circling's done for him and that gives the story embodiment. Reading it helped me reflect on my own communication practices and how I feel about feedback and dealing with difficult areas. He also points to a coming revolution in personal communication, something I imagine Circling will be part of.

This book is a must have for people practicing circling. It offers a history, an overview of the practice, and some of the most important skills to develop for the practice.

I highly recommend it.

I've been practicing circling since 2012 and was a facilitator in Portland, OR, and one of the founders of Authentic Montreal.

I highly recommend this guide. Everyone who has practiced circling knows it's power for transformation.... but it's hard to explain what circling to someone who hasn't experienced. This guide is an absolute must for circling practitioners of any level and those that may be interested in trying circling. Marc Beneteau has done a beautiful job of weaving all the various elements of circling to give people a full grasp of the intention and power of circling.
