What a great charger/mount

Having purchased an iPhone Pro 13 Max I was in the market for a vent-mounted wireless charger/mount. Knowing that the Pro Max with case was pretty heavy, I thought something with a second point of contact on the dash might be best.

So I bought an ESR HaloLock Magnetic Wireless Car Charger as I thought the second point of contact would be enough to hold the phone in place. I was wrong. The problem with the ESR HaloLock was the fact that it was simply an 'alligator' style clip that clipped onto the air vent. Even with the second point of contact below, the clip wasn't enough to secure the charger to the vent. It fell several times until the cheap plastic clip ended up breaking.

I then turned to this Anker Car Mount Charger and boy, what a difference. Like the ESR unit, it has a second point of contact, but the mechanism to clamp it to the vent makes all the difference in the world! The spring-loaded clip doesn't clamp to the to vent alligator style but rather clamps behind the vent shutter so that it makes it virtually impossible for the unit to fall off the vent. It's secure. Add to the fact that the clamp is made of metal and not cheap plastic and it's a total win.

The magnet itself seems to be as strong or stronger than other units I looked at. I've yet to have my phone fall off, even over the potholed-ridden New England roads. It also sits far enough away from the vent itself so that air can still easily circulate around it.

The only thing I dislike about the Anker is that the face of the unit is white instead of black. Obviously, when your phone is mounted you can't see it. But my preference would have been a black face to better match the unit/car. Personal preference I know.

All in all a great unit for holding heavier phones such as the Pro Max!

Great mount that holds up in the Florida heat

I've been using this mount for well over a year now in the South Florida heat (my car parks outside in no shade), and I've been very happy with it. I have an iPhone 13 Pro (non-Max) in a case that has an integrated MagSafe magnetic ring. This point is important as you will not be able to securely use this mount with a case that doesn't have the MagSafe magnetic ring.

My phone has never fallen off the mount with correct placement. It's a strong enough attraction that I wouldn't dare to just try pulling the phone directly off of it without fear of breaking something - instead the technique I use is to grab my phone with a full grip and "slide" the phone right with my thumb while using my fingers curled around the back of the phone to push left against the mount. This releases the magnetic attraction without stressing any components on the mount or your air vents.

Would I recommend this product? Yes, I already have!

Absolutely loved this mount. Easy to install. I love the fact that you get the option between mounting on your vent or with the 3M mount for the dash. I’ve easily moved it between cars I own without issues. (I typically already have a usb C cable available that can reach the mount. The charging may not be fast but it most definitely does charge as needed while on the road.

I’ve had mine for over three years now and wanted to buy a spare one so I could stop switching it between vehicles. I was disappointed to find out it is no longer available. I had the newer mount Anker has available in their store that is essentially an arm in one of my cars but that one proved to fall apart under the Texas heat. It also doesn’t stay cool due to not being in front of the vehicles vents. So it didn’t charge as consistently or efficiently.

They should’ve stuck with this simple vent clip/adhesive mini mount. It’s less invasive in the car and it worked perfectly fine. I still can’t find anything that comes close to how good this mount was to me.

It just recently broke on me after two years of use. Broke at the where the charging pad meets the mount. I suppose because it’s made of plastic (the mount) the repeated use of removing and mounting the phone and interior car extreme temperatures (winters in Boston and summers in Dc) lead to failure. Lost a star for breaking. but after 2 years, is that okay?

I was going to buy another but they’re unavailable atm. Uh oh. So I superglued it back together and it works just as before. Otherwise pretty awesome mount charger and I tend to like Anker products.

I have only been using this for a little under a week so I can't speak to longevity but so far it's working great to charge my new Samsung phone while wireless Android Auto runs in the background. I just took probably a 15 minute trip and picked up about 8% charge without having to mess with any cables. I have no doubt a cable is faster but this is more convenient and now my giant bar phone has a home instead of sitting in a cup holder or in the console. I haven't seen the phone move on the charger yet, the magnets seem to hold well. I'm not a fan of the traditional universal mounts so I have mine mounted on a custom solution for my vehicle.

What a fantastic mount that also happens to be a MagSafe charger. I can’t believe the lack of options when it comes to car mounts that also charge wirelessly. This checks all the boxes and does it well.

Be warned I don’t think it will work on vents that are circular and rotate. It only seems to work on vents that are rectangular and angle up and down and side to side.

Warning #2: it charges non iPhones that are qi compatible but it will most likely not hold up the phone. My friend tried his Samsung phone and it would start charging but when he lets go the phone will slide off the mount.

The only con I have for this guy is that the mount is metal and it gets freaking hot during the day. I got into my car after work and it shocked me how hot it gets. Good thing it’s on the vent because it’ll cool down with the ac. Just a heads up. Totally worth it. If you’re looking for a mount that can actually charge your iPhone conveniently I would highly recommend this.

Die Haftkraft des Magneten ist mehr als ausreichend.
Es ist nämlich noch etwas zu beachten, wenn man mit Magneten hantiert; es darf nichts größeres dazwischen sein -sprich: eine Standardhülle. Mit der Magnetstärke bin ich in Kombination mit meiner MagSafe kompatiblen Hülle (mit einem Magnetring versehen) bin ich absolut zufrieden.
Selbst mit dem Display gen Boden zeigend und dabei rüttelnd und schüttelnd passierte nichts.
7,5 W Ladeleistung mit entsprechendem Ladegerät ist in Ordnung.
Und ja, auch die Verarbeitung ist für den Preis solide, Materialwahl ist preisbezogen ebenfalls absolut in Ordnung.
Zum Kleber kann ich nichts sagen, aber persönlich würde ich sowieso kein Riesen-Phone a la Pro Max auf einer relativ rauen Oberfläche, die zusätzlich Hitze und Kälte ausgesetzt ist, mit einem Klebestreifen anbringen und hoffen, dass es irgendwie die Monate hält.
Wer eine solide MagSafe Lade-Halterung sucht und die Voraussetzungen hinsichtlich MagSafe Komponente berücksichtigt, kann dieses Produkt ruhigen Gewissens kaufen.
