Product Description
Upgrade your PLA printing with a matte finish filament
3D printing is incredible, but run of the mill PLA can make your prints look like … well, look like plastic! Matte finish PLA from SpiderMaker takes 3D printing to the next level of aesthetics and quality with great looking matte texture and gorgeous colors.
A matte finish lets your designs really stand out with rich details that would get glossed over by the way regular PLA reflects light, also helping to make layer lines less obvious. The visual effect is striking enough, but SpiderMaker Matte Finish PLA also feels great with its matte texture. Thanks to these aspects, SpiderMaker Matte Finish PLA gives you a much more refined end product.
SpiderMaker Matte Finish PLA is also great in applications where reflectivity matters, such as in making hoods and surrounds for camera lenses. This PLA also enjoys the same great properties of PLA, such as low odor.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2019This is very nice filament. It is soft, so use care when inserting and removing filament from Bowden tube as it does scrape off a lot of dust into the gears. At the cost, I will probably keep some on hand for some specific projects, as with many items, the cost is reflected in the quality of the product. The colors are very nice. Print without any difficult with adhesion, prints solid, nice surface feel.
This was my first go with Spidermaker. After reading reviews and variety of favored print settings of reviewers, I was a little confused as to what temperature this filament would print best, so I thought it best to run a temperature calibration print. I posted some pics. Oddly enough to naked eye, I could distinguish very little difference between temperature settings. talk about a forgiving filament :-). I will admit I forgot to add g-code for 185 degree top layer so it printed at 220. The whole print looks so uniform that I am printing another temp test, and staying in attendance to make sure my settings are actually changing the extruder temp. I will post updates if I was in error. Under magnification there did seem to be a little cleaner printing of the v at 215 and a little cleaner oval at 210, so I'm thinking I'll try print settings at 213.
Update: I did recheck the gcode on the print and aside from the 185 all the temperatures did adjust per layer.
What to say, I am really impressed with this filament, easy printing, very forgiving. The Pokemon I printed in photo, was just a coarse draft I rushed out when filament arrived as my daughter liked the color. It needs a lot of sanding, but again, used fast print settings on Cura.
Used CR-10s pro for prints. Creality glass bed.
Cura 4.2 standard settings for calibration print.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2020Size: 1.75 mmColor: Iron GrayVerified PurchaseI've been printing for some years now and have several FDM and a few LCD Resin printers. I'm a product design tinkerer and I tend to love playing with specialty filaments like wood, etc.
First of all, the colors in this series are just beautiful. They are rich, opaque and buttery and take some interesting hues and shades.
The matte texture is just second to none for a standard PLA. Wood, Protopasta Matte and Carbon Fiber are the only other materials I love this much and this is cheaper if you're not buying shady quality in the other variations.
It prints so, so, so easy it's not even funny. Has some give without being too soft, but outside of robust structures, I would mainly use this for cosmetic or stress free prints. I have made a few solid parts with it or shells and they are fine, but they aren't under any weight or sheer stresses.
I don't know what else to say other than to try it out. I am currently printing a full scale Kaneda Laser Rifle from Akira. It's stunning so far and because of the colors available I will only have to do detail and weathering for paint.
It's not rough like the protopasta, but not shiny and "plasticky" like regular PLA or PETG.
Wonderful, wonderful filament and now I only want it in 2.85mm as well so I can run it on all my Taz 6 machines!
Keep it coming, Spidermaker!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2020Size: 1.75 mmColor: Paper WhiteVerified PurchaseUpdate: crazy in 4 years this has increased $10(now $32) a roll for only 700grams of filament. Sorry I can get other for only $13 a roll and it’s a full 1kg.
Great filament but probably won’t order again as It not in stock again and I don’t want to start project and have to finish with different brand. Cost almost double and you get less filament, but it prints so good and really love the matte finish.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020This filament excels if you are looking for nearly invisible lines, very precise corners, non-expansion, and just the right stickiness. When I print at 0.12 on my CR-10vc2, every Spider Maker filament that I have tried (five now) has produced my best prints to date. It isn't a matter of just tuning the printer, I have printed with other high quality filaments with good, but not this good result. The coolest part is that this filament results in a semi-glossy finish, but layers so well on top of it that when printed at relatively thin layer heights you have to look close to see the layers. At 0.2, you can see them, but at 0.12 you almost can't. As stated, the corners are crisp and when printed parts need to "fit" another part, they just do. I haven't seen any expansion or contraction. The parts also have a very slight springiness to them and seem less brittle, but remain really strong. I print at 213 degrees with these filaments, as the recommended range is 210 - 230. When the bed of the CR10v2 cools, parts with this filament just effortless lift off. There is only one issue with it, it does not handle bridging well, even small ones. So plan a support if you need them and it does handle removing supports easily. Do note these come in 3/4 Kg rolls, not 1 kg rolls. So it is pricey, but worth every cent to me. I highly recommend this range of PLA filaments. The only other filament that has I have tried that prints this precisely and has almost invisible lines is Prusament, which also results in gorgeous prints. But they tend more toward glossiness, with out being shiny and therefore show the back seam a little more prominently. However, they are otherwise equal in quality.

Kaiwea RichardReviewed in Canada on July 2, 20215.0 out of 5 stars Best PLA I've Used
Size: 1.75 mmColor: Coal BlackVerified PurchaseThe Spidermaker matte PLA is the best PLA filament I've used. Layer adhesion is excellent, bed adhesion is perfect with 60C bed temperature, extrusion is smooth with no clogs or issues, the spool is perfectly spun with no tangles, and the spooling box has given our small batch production line a new degree of ease of use by allowing us to get rid of an annoying process in our workflow now that we don't have to unpack and repack spools between use and going into dry storage.
I'd highly recommend this to any business or person looking for a top tier zero issue matte PLA for small production, prototyping, or hobbyist use

Tim KuschelReviewed in Germany on June 8, 20211.0 out of 5 stars Hält nicht auf Anycubic Mega X Base

Sven JohnReviewed in Germany on March 17, 20215.0 out of 5 stars Das beste PLA was ich bisher gekauft habe.
