Vindictive anger brings destruction into the already fragile web that holds the Mars colonies together. Two extremes do their best to end efforts for a free life through demolition and bureaucracy while those close to the center are forced to re-evaluate what they believed to be right. Curiosity leads to doubt and then fear of discovery as ideals are traded underneath new skies. Redline brings the old west frontier onto the surface of Mars in an effort to recapture the age old search for freedom to think, live, and breathe clean air. The difficulties of wresting a livelihood from the stubborn Martian soil depends on family, determination, and guts. Returning to Blue Ridge as sheriff was supposed to give Gideon McKinnon the opportunity to reconnect with his family and finally mend his broken heart. He didn’t count on the woman he loved still being unattached and oblivious. Nor did he count on having to solve the previous sheriff’s murder. Add rustlers to the mix of the cold, the thin atmosphere and the lack of water and Sheriff Gideon McKinnon has more than enough trouble, even without the complications of a snarled relationship.

Jim McKinnon had no idea the trouble he roped when he offered to pose as Kathryn Tajima's boyfriend to help her save face in front of her family. His good deed quickly proved troublesome when he found himself falling in love with her. With someone trying to sabotage the Martian sea project and taking pot shots at him on one side and his frustration at trying to keep Kathryn close enough to him until he can convince her fall in love with him, he has more trouble than pronghorns in a sandstorm.

Starting a training program for newcomers on the backside of Mars isn't without its struggles. Third generation settler Adam McKinnon dreams of providing a place where new immigrants can learn the skills that make the difference between life and death on the frontier world.

Unfortunately, MarsTex sees the training program as the perfect venue for improving Earth-Mars relations through the production of a digimovie with the talented and wildly popular Whitney Lake. Whitney isn't adverse to the idea and would like nothing more than to make Adam her leading man, but Adam is bent on wooing his best friend, Lydia and making her his lifetime partner at the ranchero.

Add in a Earth-based land developer determined to obtain Martian real estate without consideration for settlers and newcomers and Adam finds himself in the crossfire.

    "I'm a country girl with a yen for the stars," says Carol Parsons, a "naturalized' Texan who was born and raised in Oklahoma and writes Christian science fiction. "Living in the wide open spaces gives me the perfect opportunity to indulge in stargazing and science fiction is an excellent venue for broaching otherwise difficult or emotion-laden topics."

    Parsons earned a BA in journalism at Oklahoma Baptist University and worked as the editor of the Colorado City Record, in Colorado City, Texas. She has won Texas Press Association awards in editorial writing. She traded in her pen and pad to work with the AVID college prep program at Roscoe High School. Parsons spent 10 years in Ecuador with her husband and four children as missionaries with the International Mission Board. She enjoys playing board games with her family, Japanese anime, and classical music.
