I don't often write product reviews, but this little flashlight blew me away! I have a friend who lives in the country, with a long, uneven, dark path to her set-back house. When I visited at night walking back to my car on the road was always a daunting prospect, but no more! This little light lit my way forward amazingly. It has 6 modes, but I set it to permanent mode six, which is "turbo". Also, it's tiny and light. It fits in my purse easily. What a great product and a great purchase. Well worth the money!

I got this on a flash sale and I have to say it’s a wonderful flashlight. It’s definitely a more tactical style. It’s very functional with a nice clicky push button at the rear. Now it does have that scalloped guarding around there which I guess is meant to be used as a defensive head smasher. The beam is very bright and it’s definitely a more white LED beam color. It will tend to run hot after prolonged usage so keep that in mind. The battery is rechargeable and lasts for quite a long time. The build quality is very good. It’s very durable And if you drop it, you don’t have to worry about it breaking on you. The clip is also very well done and is grippy enough so it’s not gonna slide out but not so bad that it’s gonna tear your pants up trying to get it loose. I would definitely recommend this as a great EDC flashlight

Fun little light that is super bright! Really like how the bullseye inner beam is so sharp yet it still has a good amount of light off center. It could be very useful even short range and indoors. I like that it has very cool metal work and feels very grippy even with my large hands. It definitely feels high end and I would have given it 5 stars if it had some kind of battery indicator found some other flashlights. I just recently purchased a couple of other larger inexpensive models that have them. Being that this is very bright and has a very small battery it will discharge quicker and I have realized I would not want to go out on a long walk or do something where I really needed a light and had no idea how long it would last. That being said I do not know if there are any lights this small and inexpensive that have a battery indicator. It is fun and small but I am not sure how useful.

I got this light for $23 a couple weeks ago and so far it has been fantastic! It doesn't have all the bells & whistles of some more expensive lights, but it does what's most important really well, throws a lot of light a long way. Even when using the highest brightness setting for an extended period of time, it stays bright and doesn't get overly hot. I do wish it had a two way clip and a magnet incorporated into the design, but it's not a deal breaker for me. It does remember the last setting used if turned off for more than 3 seconds. I really like the ability to use any average AA battery in a pinch if needed, it's nice to have that option just in case. Overall the light feels sturdy and well made and seems like it should take a beating and keep on working. Not quite sure if I'd pay the supposed full $40 retail price just because of how basic it is and the other options available up at or slightly above that price point, but for around $30 or so it's worth it. Highly recommend!

I'm a contractor and I need a dependable flashlight that's small and light enough to carry every day in my pocket, is rugged and dependable. I like a single-battery flashlight since they're smaller and lighter so they're unobtrusive in my pocket. (I keep this one clipped onto a cargo pocket in my work pants.) Every flashlight I've tried before fails soon after I get it -- usually the switch stops working. This one has worked seamlessly with no problems whatsoever. I also use it to walk my dogs pre-dawn and I love the ultra-low light setting since it's perfect to cast enough light to walk the paths in the woods without causing light blindness. But it has three other light output levels as well. I usually just use the second setting, and sometimes the third if I need to see something in a dark space pretty far away. I almost never need the highest setting -- so, plenty bright. This is my favorite flashlight ever! If I had to find a way to improve it, I would add a light level switch to change output settings rather than cycling the on/off switch. But, barring that, it's perfect!
PS: I wish AceBeam sold extra batteries on Amazon -- I got one online from a battery supplier -- so I could always have a charged battery as a backup for those long workdays.

Superb 14500 light. Excellent build quality. Can tail-stand. Good user interface, with several useful settings. Excellent throw, with enough useful spill. Heats up at max power, but not excessively so. The switch exhibits a fraction of a second delay when turning on -- not a huge deal, but I do notice it. Perhaps just a little larger than it needs to be for 14500/AA size, but still very light and easy to carry. Overall, one of the best in this size.

....that I'm aware of. Granted, there is probbaly a ton of flashlight brands, I've never even heard of or which do not show up on amazon for sale but I do know (and own) quite some brands and this light is the furthest throwing I have seen to date (again, I'm SPECIFICALLY refering to the AA format).

I can't strongly enough recommend NOT to listen to the negative reviews, because there is nothing significant bad about the TAC AA. The only thing I don't like is the clip, it's a bit cheap and even if the head of the light is a bit heavy/bulky (25,4mm/ 1 inch) to wear it on a basecap/visor, I still would prefer a two way clip much better. Be that way, I have no use for it so I detached it, plain and simple.

ATTENTION:

The tailcap has a left-hand thread, to unscrew it, you must turn it to the right and you simply can put the clip off afterwards, Why Acebeam decided to make a left-hand thread for the tail is beyond me and will perhaps stay a company secret.

Other than the clip, anything about that light is fantastic. It has four light modes: low- mid-high-turbo and thankfully no useless gimmicks as strobe, SOS or beacon. The light has a memory, so whatever mode was chosen last, will come up with the next switch on. The tail switch is VERY firm and needs a significant amount of pressure - which might be too much for some - but at least it is next to impossible to turn on the light by accident. Despite the 1000 lumens on max output, the TAC AA don't get hot, it warms up a bit but obviously Acebeam did a remarkable job with the agressive cooling fins. ( Hey Nitecore do you read this? ).

The manufacturer claims a throwing distance of 280 meter but we all know that in reality about one-third of that range is actually meant for use (where you can really see something) This goes for ALL manufacturers make no mistake. Whenever you want something throwing REALLY far (let's say about 500 meters) you need triple the claim (1500 meters).

The TAC AA obviously delivers with the 920mah 14500 Li-Ion rechargeable battery but the big surprise is, that it also delivers beyond any expectations with a regular 1.5 volt cell. Of course not as bright but even with a regular battery it has a useable beam range of about 60-70 meters (with the 14500 it lights up anything within 90-100 meters). That is awesome but one have to see it to fully appreciate the potential of that little puncher.

Conclusion: The TAC AA is far from being the smallest AA on the market, others like the Acebeame Pokelit AA or the Lumintop Tool AA are smaller with similar high output lumens. But those lights are not meant for throw, they are more floody and light up things withing a range of 20-25 meters in a much broader beam. Nothing wrong with that and sometimes even preferably but when you need range in a small package the TAC AA is probably as close to perfection as it gets, Highly recommmeded!

Was looking through the reviews and seems like I am the only person on the planet that had to pay for one of these! Just kidding but there certainly do seem to have been a lot of freebies but not here.

I actually bought 2 of these as I liked it that much but then I like a tail switch which some people don't and I'm happy with it having mode memory and basic forward clicky user interface while others are not etc etc

I have other small 14500 battery 1000 lumen pocket lights such as the Pokelit Grey, TrustFire L2, Sofirn SP10, but none of those throw much over 100 meters whereas this TAC AA definitely exceeds that and so I find it a great little outdoors compact led light, though obviously with the larger head it isn't the most compact.

I first bought the Neutral White Nichia version and was impressed with that so I then purchased the Cool White version which it turned out I preferred for the cooler brighter beam and it also works very well with an nimh battery and doesn't reverse the moonlight and low modes as happens with the Nichia version so I returned the Nichia and bought a second in Cool white and now I am happy. My Pokelit Nichia 219f and Rider RX are both high CRI in any case so I am well covered there and though the Nichia TAC is desirable I just found I liked the Cool White more and I give it 5 stars because I have a lot of lights, some larger and more powerful but I prefer something light and easily pocketable but still with some good performance and this TAC AA is simply now one of my favourites. Love it.

This is a solid build. First the beam is beautiful, the hotspot is round and sharp, it's also flat across (meaning even brightness throughout the hotspot). I say it's a tool because it's well driven, doesn't overheat, small enough, lightweight and it throws. If you're walking most 14500(AA) styles don't illuminate far enough ahead. Seeing further ahead is first in self defense or preservation if that's any concern. It also has a nice useable spill.
Remember it's a small, max 750 lumens( hi cri version) if you need more light you need a bigger flashlight. The cool white is 1000 lumens and the extra brightness and throw is definitely noticeable(in videos I watched) if a better personal fit for you. I will acknowledge it's a touch pricey but in the long run you get what you pay for, is probably applicable here.
