Every Word: Crossings
Purchase options and add-ons
You are given five to seven scrambled letters with the goal of finding as many words as you can. When you find a word it gets added to the crossword style grid, which gives you clues about the words that intersect with the word you just found. You score points by filling out the words in each empty spot on the crossword grid. When you find a word that uses all available letters, you can move on to the next level, or keep at it until time runs out or until you fill up the board. The more words you make, the higher your score!
Every Word: Crossings has 10 levels of difficulty and as you progress the puzzles become more complex. Level 1 gives you 5 letters to work with and a small grid with about a dozen words to fill in. Level 10 gives you 7 letters and more than 30 words to find.
There are thousands of unique puzzles to play. Enjoy Every Word: Crossings today!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2011When I got my Kindle, I thought I would use it to read...the last thing I, and possibly you, need is yet another addictive game to while away your time. When I first opened up the game, I said to myself I would just play it for 5-10 minutes then move on to the book I was reading. I was wrong on my time estimate as I looked up and realized almost an hour had passed.
This game is a mixture between a crossword and something like word find or word scramble. You get 5 to 7 letters to figure out as many words can be made with the combination of letters available - you score 20 points each for the first three letters, then the scoring goes up. You can play in a "relaxed" or non-timed mode or on a timer. The levels of difficulty gradually increase through the ten separate puzzles.
This game appears to be addictive, and I was just off of my Kindle-version Scrabble addiction.
There is a warning on the game description that says the content may be inappropriate for children. I assume that is due to the potential of dirty words, or something a parent may not want to explain the definition of to their child, that they may run across. I haven't found anything (yet) I would consider inappropriate.
One word of warning: you will be using a lot of the letters (obviously) playing this game. I am on my second K3 due to the letters coming off due to too much Scrabble playing, and my current one is starting to suffer the same. I would imagine if you play this game a lot, your letters on a K3 might rub off, too. Of course, your experience may vary.
All in all, this is a neat little game and I give it an extra star for being free!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2013Was looking for a word game that was fun and challenging too.
What I got with this one is mind boggling fun game after game.
Works like the other word challenges but this one is with the fresh look of a crossword puzzle. Words get harder per level and it really has you remember those sometimes seldom used words that just have gotten lost in today's texting world.
Like the fact that you can choose a relaxed or timed games to suit your mood. For me it is the timed games as it really keeps your fingers flying and mind sharp to figure out the next words. Happy to report that after playing countless hours there is a fresh new game each time :-)
Love the crossword layout, so if you do get stuck most of the time if you have enough words on the board you can get that elusive word that you would have missed otherwise. The hint feature will not give you a clue, only point you to a place on the board that the word is missing. But I haven't found that that mattered at all.
Warning as it is addicting, as I was using this to wind down before bedtime but found myself staying up an hour plus later as it sucks you into its word folds.
So if you are looking for a nice word challenge game, at a great price too, this one is one I would recommend in a heartbeat.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2011I've only completed six of the ten levels so far, but I've had fun with it. Pluses include the option to go at a timed pace or at a relaxed pace. You can take all the time you like and come back to it later; saving your place is pretty idiot-proof. You can also go back and change your mind all you want when guessing at words. Very easy and forgiving. A couple of annoyances: some really weird words pop up that you have to look up in the dictionary (which is just a handy couple of clicks away in your kindle!); some words don't seem like words at all but like obscure roots or foreign words; some normal words you'd fully expect to be accepted are not (ex: "queer" - not pc?); the quick tips as each new level loads disappear too quickly (making it hard to read the longer ones); the "clues" are pretty useless - unless I'm missing something, all they do is show you where your next word is to fill in. Otherwise the game is great fun. And ... I really can't complain; it's free!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2013I was determine not to have lots of games on my Kindle. So I only had Scrabble. But I got a little tired of it. So while in the bank in Jamaica on the last Friday of the month (read long lines and slow moving tellers) I decided to turn on my Kindle and check the WiFi for ... anything. I checked games and read the reviews of Every Word Crossings and was impressed. I also LOVED the fact that it was FREE! (I have no money that's why I have to join long lines at the bank) What a fun game! Not only is it mind stimulating but you are generously rewarded with the discovery of each word! I like that a lot! The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is because I am now stuck in a game where I only have two words to place and for the life of me I just can't figure them out. The hint button is not really a hint when you really think about it because if I have found one of the letters already and when I hit "hint" it gives me that same letter in the same position in the solving line, then it has not given me a hint. Otherwise I am very pleased with my $0 purchase! Thank You Amazon!!!
