Low expectations were met.***POTENTIAL SPOILERS***First and foremost, the show doesn't stay even remotely true to Tolkien lore. The time crunch I would understand if it wasn't you know 1600+ years worth? The main character "Galadriel" is absolutely unbearable... from the lore, she's a great character, but the show scuffs her entire personality... we only just found out about Celeborn, we haven't heard squat about her daughter. The stranger we know nothing about, they'll probably end up making him Gandalf (which will piss me off) or some new wizard (which will piss me off even more). The Harfoots, aren't Harfoots... there are some solid actors in this show, the ones who play Durin III and Durin IV are good, Elrond is played well. Disa had some cringe lines in the end of episode 7, but I really enjoy her because she's so adorable and out there, feels very Dwarvish. The actors who plays Elendil, Halbrand and Adar has some good acting chops, Arondir feels very first movie Legolas, very mild mannered... but they're all held back by poor dialogue and story telling from the writers. There is no talent on the writing and directing staff. The biggest and one of the few positives of the show, is the visuals, which you'll see is the only thing the majority of reviews praise.TL;DR... Rings of Power feels like a mediocre at best fantasy thrown into Tolkien's world with a poorly written story, bad dialogue and acting.5
