"Drought and Men: The 1972 Case History" ... is a book that discusses and incorporates history and accurate empirical evidence about a long and anomalous drought in large parts of Africa. The Brazilian Northeast also faced a severe drought in the years 1970 to 1972. The volume 1 Drought and Man: The 1972 Case History ...) is indeed a good book. Volumes 2 and 3 by the same author (Rolando V. Garcia) and collaborators, who give it sequence, complement very well the history of Drought in the Sahel, in 1970s. It was difficult to complete this collection. But it was worth.
