this is an amazing book both for its breadth of substantive content and readability for the scientifically-challenged. it is a treatise on global warming written at the relatively nascent stage (1990) of this phenomenon but which remains surprisingly fresh and relevant today. frankly, ms. lyman should be making the rounds of the talk shows as i write this in july 2014! it is full of relevant historical and then (and even now) "current" data served up in an overpowering and clear supportive case which should be read by the conservative/republican troglodyte-cretins who still are in denial. an updating new chapter and a direct response to those citing a polar vortex (etc.) as proof positive opposing this phenomenon would be nice! hear that sen. jim imhofe??? bravo ms lyman!
Excellent primer on the topic of global warming for all ages. Helps explain some of the technical details put forth in the Al Gore movie, "An Inconvenient Truth."
