Agroecology is getting more and more attention as the most promising way to end world hunger. This is a vitally important topic, and this book is its bible, more or less. It's very dense and not at all an easy or relaxing read, but the reader WILL come away with an in depth understanding of agroecology and tons and tons of examples of where and how it is used and what can be achieved with it. Highly recommended.
Some parts are a little dry, but there are some great sections - the relationship of weeds to crop production, for example, was fascinating and enlightening. The book has strong points about approaches to agriculture and the mistakes of conventional ag esp for poor sustenance farmers, but manages to avoid a sense of bias in reporting data.
