Teaching and the Case Method: Text, Cases, and Readings Third Edition
Teaching and the Case Method delves into the special role of teacher and students in the case method learning process. Schools that want to use the case method more effectively can use this book to teach groups of faculty how to apply case method techniques. For the first time, too, a book about case method teaching attempts to show how the method can be applied in a liberal arts setting. A liberal arts module in the book presents an innovative program for instructors who want to experiment with discussion teaching in traditional arts and science areas. The book focuses on a wide range of knotty problems faced by most instructors, experienced or new, creating an opportunity for them to learn from each other. It's main purpose is to provide a rich opportunity for both professional school and liberal arts instructors to develop their own discussion leadership skills, and to further the process of learning for both themselves and their students.

It's not the book I expected.

Received in new condition and properly sent. Great idea to be used and some schools are implementing the technique. Worth a try but should not forget the basics of education.

This book is a real masterpiece, it is comprehensive, elegant and clear. Whether you use it for an MBA or any other discipline, it will be a great help, as it focuses on curiosity, judgment and wisdom (qualities of mind), character, sensitivity, integrity and responsibility (qualities of the person) and the ability to apply them.

great insights

I ordered it recently to prepare a lecture for college teachers on teaching with cases. Half of the book is cases on teaching, the other is theoretical background or personal accounts on teaching with cases. The book is inspiring and very useful if you plan to run a longer seminar on teaching with cases. But for giving practical advice in a one-day seminar there are other books out there with structured approach and lots of tips.

El tono del discurso y la organización
Reviewed in Spain on March 14, 2013
