Ongoing developments in this region require that the United States, South Korea, and Japan work closely to present a unified position to Pyongyang. North Korea's resistance to dialogue with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the lack of forward motion in resuming North-South dialogue, and North Korea's testing of the Rodong 1, a missile with a 1000-km range, all clearly underscore the need for continued trilateral consultation in addressing these issues.
