Editorial Reviews

Review

Deborah King's Truth Heals is about the courageous act of facing the truth about one's life and the liberation that can come from this. An inspiring work for all those interested in healing themselves and others. -- Michael Murphy, Cofounder and Chairman of the Board of Esalen Institute

I wanted to tell you I read Truth Heals this morning (all in one sitting, i could not put it down!) It is powerful, to the point, and with your personal story woven into the book it is a moving journey with a very emotional and authentic message. --
Penny Guyon, Firefly Media

From the Author

They say a book is a labor of love. For me this has certainly been true. I wrote my new book Truth Heals: Dismantling The Lies That Make Us Sick because I wanted to reach as many people as possible with the message that I teach in my free healing events, workshops and private practice: that the truth can set you free. It was my love for people I have never met but whom I know I can help that pushed me to bring this book to print.

Deborah King is a speaker, New York Times bestselling author, and leading authority on energy medicine. Deborah was a successful attorney in her 20s when a diagnosis of cancer sent her on a search for truth that radically changed her life. Combining traditional and alternative medicine, along with meditation and journaling, she soon returned to a state of health. Along the way, she conquered the alcohol and drug addictions she had used to bury an abusive childhood. Leaving the corporate arena for the mysterious world of healers, sages and shamans, Deborah mastered ancient and modern energy medicine systems and teaches them widely today.

An inspirational speaker and writer who is featured regularly in broadcast, online, and print media, Deborah has a popular weekly Facebook show. Her New York Times bestselling Be Your Own Shaman, Truth Heals, Entangled in Darkness, and her newest, a Simon Schuster release, Heal Yourself – Heal the World, guide the reader through a personal transformation so they too can lead, and “become the change they want to see.” W magazine calls Deborah’s work “electrifying.”

If are currently searching for answers in regards on how to heal your life, this book will help you tremendously. If I could, I would give the book 10 stars. Deborah is brutally honest about things that occurred in her life and how she responded. Deborah is extremely brave to bare her soul to the world in order to help others heal. I've been reading these types of books for the last 5 years and each on has given me a piece of the puzzle regarding my life. I've read in other books, that we are pretty much screwed up by the age of 6. However, Deborah explains it in great detail and how this affects our emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and energy self. I read her book Be Your Own Shaman, which was very helpful to me and led me to her online program. One book suggested early on in the program, is this one, Truth Heals. I thought I was going to read it as we studied each of the Chakras but yesterday I decided to read the book and did so in its entirety. I have been searching all my life to try and make myself happy and understand why things happened within my life. Wow, this book along with the current online program to which I am only in week 9 of the 48 weeks, totally explains all the dynamics within myself and my relationships. Now I have to figure out how to tackle the mountain of self healing work I need to do. I am very grateful that I was guided to this book. All the books on my shelf have led me to another, each one taking me closer and closer to what I was needing. This book was brought to me because now I am now truly ready to tackle my dark side. The Universe knows what we need and when to make it available to us. We have to be honest with ourselves if we truly want to heal and this is a very difficult thing to do. If you truly want to understand the dynamics of your life and have the desire to heal, this book may bring a lot of light to your path.

I'm blown away by how much I learned from this book. It's easy to read and explains so much about the different chakras, including how to heal them. This book is going to be in my personal library when I buy a physical copy. I'm sure I will come back and keep reading this book again and again. Highly reccomend!

The author is really candid about the sexual abuse that she experienced, and how later she grew up to use her feminine wiles to get what she wanted from men.

Truth really does heal. I like how she gives us questions to ask ourselves to see if each chakra is in a balanced state. Also, if a certain chakra isn't in balance, she gives helpful tips on how to bring it about. She's very giving. I listen to her show on Hayhouseradio.com on occasion - she gives away books, and admission to her lectures. Sometimes she's isn't always accurate, but most of the time she's on. I enjoy her presence and personality. Thank you, Deborah King, for teaching women how to be honest with themselves and in integrity with others. We need more women like you. Shine on!

This is not a book to be read only one time. In fact, I first read the hardback too quickly to digest (and ended up giving it away). Later I purchased it on Kindle.

I read this book in about 2 days and could not put it down. The writing style is simple and easy so you 'get it' without much hassle. Deborah gives real life examples and stories from her clients and people who we know publicly, which is smart because these are stories we 'see' everyday and hence its easy to understand what she's saying.

This has sharpened my understanding of how our behaviors of hiding from the truth create illness. I feel more empowered and aware now of how I can live my life from and truthful and most importantly healthy point of view.

I stumbled across Deborah King's radio show on [...] and was immediately hooked. She is a truly remarkable healer and expert in whole-health wellness. So, I bought the book. I picked it up on a Saturday and didn't put it down until late the same night. I just had to keep going and going.

Parts of the book are so intense you literally squirm in your seat, and there are sections sprinkled with celebrity profiles that 1) help you remember how chakra issues are manifested in ailments and behaviors, but 2) they also serve to "bring you back up" to the surface so you can keep reading. The book is organized topically very well with each Chapter devoted to a different chakra and something critical in Deborah's life to tie it togther.

Deborah writes in a consise, hard-hitting, no-nonsense style that I found very easy to read and relate to. And the Chapters are chock-full of practical information on what physical ailments relate to what chakra imbalance, and WHY this happens, and best of all, what to do about it. Her personal story of transformation is shocking, beautiful, and truly courageous all at once.

If you are a student of the spiritual, a survivor of abuse, or interested in learning about the chakra energy system, you really have to read this book. I grew from it, and you will to.

This is a very good book. I suggest that people from wounded backgrounds, especially sexual abuse victims, read this book. You could start your way on recovering from being wounded as a child. It starts with admitting what happened and forgiving yourself. You do not have to forgive the behavior of the person but carrying anger around for years can cause you all sorts of health problems. I enjoyed the book immensely, even though I was not a victim of sexual abuse, but mental and physical abuse. It has helped me open my heart and forgive myself and my parents.

Amazing book! A short blurb and the beginning of each chapter about the author's life. It relates truth to each chakra and how the chakra is affected by not being truthful and what kind of ailments you might have because of it. I love this book and read it over and over. Its such a wonderful reminder to feel empowered and honest.
