Amazon.com: Post-Colonialism: Culture and Identity in Africa (Horizons in Post-Colonial Africa): 9781560724537: African Studies Association of Australia and the Pacific. Conference (1996 : Adelaide, S. Aust.), Ahluwalia, D. P. S., Nursey-Bray, Paul: Books
The aim of this book is to engage with critical theory and assess its impact within the African context. The book is structured according to five major themes which reflect not only the rich theoretical divergence which is brought to bear on the African condition but also the diversity so evident in a continent as variegated as Africa. The five themes are: post-coloniality and Africa, African literature, representations of Africa, the new South Africa and the role of education in Africa. Running through all five themes, however, is a common thread, a concern for the question of identity.
