About the author

Nicola Bradbear's life has been working with bees and beekeepers world-wide. After a PhD from Durham University researching plant proteins for human nutrition, Nicola worked at the International Bee Research Association and taught at Cardiff University. In 1993 Nicola founded the international charity Bees for Development. This ground-breaking organisation promotes beekeeping as a way for people to create sustainable livelihoods and gain incentive to restore biodiversity.
