Customer Review

March 20, 2016
The unsung heroes of American culture are black women who stay off of drugs and work to make ends meet. The court systems are also grossly unfair in that they take broke people and charge them court costs – which they cannot pay. Then they haul them back into court for nonpayment, in what seems to be an endless cycle.
Beyond that – I found this book to be as sympathetic and honest a description of black inner city culture as one can find these days anywhere. Five stars.
