I got the first book in this series 'Close To Home' as a freebie from BookBub and didn't really know what to expect, since I hadn't read anything from this author before. I was so glad I took a chance, because I've just found another fantastic author. After reading 'Close To Home' I was so in awe, that I decided to keep following this series to the end.
Now about Book #2- 'Close To The Edge'
#1-It has a great story line that really believable. #2-The characters are also very believable. #3-Close To The Edge is a very fast paced. It has a great story line that's full of suspense & mystery, too. #4-There's lots of humor in this story, usually at Bobby's expense, but by the end...she gives as good as she gets. #5-This story is also very heart-warming. #6- And the sexual attraction that started out like just a flicker of flame in the beginning, turns into more like a raging inferno by the end of the story.
I loved everything about this story from the beginning to end. The opening scene had me cracking up, and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. Yes, Bobby seemed a little whiny and weak in the beginning, but after her confidence started to build, she became someone to reckon with. Gage? What a hunk. I could see why he would be a little apprehensive about Bobby in the beginning, especially after what he went through a few years ago. I also loved the way they treated Cleatis with dignity & respect, even though he wasn't the brightest. He was however; very loyal when it came to protecting the two of them.
I loved all the quirky characters in this small town. I lived and grew up in a small town just like Westin, so I can really relate.
We also got to visit with the two main characters in the first book, Emma and Clint and their two wild twin boys. We got to catch-up with Isabelle, too, although I'm very sad to see her health is failing fast,. Although, sometimes that more of a blessing with that kind of horrible disease.
I can't wait to get into book #3, to see what happens next.
I would highly recommend this book, as well as the series itself!
