The list author says: "This kit was designed for one woman and one dog for 7-21 days, intending to get out of the city and into the woods. I live in Boston, so tried to take into account the types of disasters that are most likely. I tried to make best use of the 40 item limit to include items with multiple uses; copper wire doubles for galvanic cell. If I added a 'pack', 'bucket' or some sort of pre-packaged kit, I made sure that most every item in the kit was necessary. I like doing my homework and did a fair amount of research prior to compiling the list. Finally, like many of you I'm on a budget - ziploc bags go a long, long way. Thanks for checking it out! "You absolutely can't go wrong with this pack. I'm 5'5" and weigh about 140 with a solid build. The medium works well for me, and at 4,455 cubic inches, I can't imagine a better buy. If cost is more of a factor, then I'd go with the Deva 60, or even cheaper with the Jade 40 but you'll be sacrificing space. Dude, zombies."
