"1 of the best I have read in a long time. I am listening to it & have trouble stopping because it is that compelling. Based on the historic round-up of Jews from Paris in July,42. The story is told concurrent with a family in 2002 at the approach of the 60th anniversary of the round-up. The grandparents moved into the abandoned apartment of a jewish family after they are arrested in July 42."
"I saw the movie first which I prefer not doing. Fortunately it didn't destroy the novel. The two actually reinforce your appreciation for the other. Disturbing in many ways. Extremely well written tale of abuse and survival."
