The list author says: "Here are the tools I used for my 1st Grader. I consider myself an Eclectic Homeschooler. I borrow bits and pieces from everywhere to make the best fit for my kids. I tell everyone one that homeschools, to USE their library. It is the MOST important tool for homeschooling in my opinion. If you like to use unit studies, lapbooking, notebooking, or scrapbooking in your homeschooling, make sure you check out www.currclick.com You can buy unit studies as low as 1.99 and there are always freebies. Another great site for freebies is www.activityvillage.co.uk They have tons of free printables, including full notebooking unit studies."
"I use this book as a guide for the year. It has a wonderful selection of poems and reading selections.I love the series! I don't think you need to buy the costly teacher's guides or planners. www.coreknowledge.org"

"This book has about 200 lessons and is supposed to take you into 2nd grade. There are several poems for the child to memorize(beware! some are changed from the originals), and the book mostly focuses on nouns. I like that it is scripted, some people don't.I like that this is repetitive for my attention span challenged son."
"I haven't got my hands on this yet, but have ordered it. I will update this list when it arrives. *update* We did not like this! My son hated the writing. I might try again in 3rd, but too boring for him now."
"This book is wonderful. It is full of lists to help you decide what to read to your children. It also has lists of books for your children to read. Mr. Trelease has included descriptions of the books to help you make informed decisions."
