The list author says: "Getting started in dSRL photography can be intimidating and you might not know where to start. I have included some of my favorite items in a generally descending order of need (i.e. items you NEED are listed first, accessories are listed later), although this is a pretty basic list so far."
"This is a MUST for any photographer. This one has a central column that can be converted to an arm that allows you to shoot at all kinds of angles. This tripod also includes the SB-100 ballhead which you need to use the tripod with your camera. Not cheap, but worth getting a good tripod to start with so you don't waste money incrementally upgrading as you advance your skills and your needs."
"I am currently using the older version (Paintshop Photo Pro X3), but to anyone looking for some great photo editing software on a budget, I always recommend the newest version for the most features. Pretty comparable (if not superior) to Adobe Photoshop Elements for about half the price."
