The list author says: "The parameters of this list are (kind of): A mainstream album, (no singles, EPs, etc.) mostly rock, pop, R&B, rap, hip-hop, country, jazz, & blues. I avoided "Various Artists" albums. I ONLY took in to account the front cover of the album as it was originally issued. (A lot of albums have fold-out front covers, but the full fold-out isn't visible). Plus, a lot albums have better pics on the BACK cover than the front cover, but again, I didn't include back covers. Of course, maybe I should do a "Sexiest Back Covers" list."
"Not only is J-Lo looking sexy on this cover, but this came out about the same time she wore "the dress". She could have really sleazed-up this cover and gotten away with it, but she kept it reasonably tasteful and sexy all at the same time (a tough balance to strike). This is a classic sexy picture. It's sexy now, and it will always be sexy in any generation."
"This album cover is sort of dated by the style of swimsuit she's wearing, but it works perfectly for the hair band era, and Slaughter was a very standard-kind-of hair band. But the woman is undeniably gorgeous from behind, the swimsuit shows off her fantastic rear, and the high-heels leave no doubt..........we're looking at one lucky midget."
"I nearly put this album cover at #1. Sheena is looking incredible in her black leotard, boobs pushed out, legs open, and her hair...... oh, her hair. Add in the look on her face, and it's hard to tell if she just finished a workout or if she's getting ready to give some lucky guy a workout."
"Unlike her album cover for "#1s" (which is coming up later in this list), Mariah looks remarkably healthier in this picture. On "#1s" she looks entirely too thin. But here, she's carrying an extra 10 pounds, and it makes a world of difference. This is one of the best legs shots in the history of popular music album covers."
"Every time I start to believe Mariah is gonna tone-down her sexiness, she ups it to the next level. If this one had leg shots, it might very well be #1 on this list. Still, a perfect-fitting little white dress that is nearly see-through, along with her near-perfect curves makes this cover a must-own."
"I'm not a big Bryan Ferry fan, and it's almost cliche to pick this album cover in this list, but sexy is sexy, even if it's blatant. You don't have to be nearly-naked to make this list, but in this case, it helps."
"I'll admit on the front end, I LOVE SHEILA E. I thought she looked incredible in 1984, and 25 years later, I think she looks EVEN BETTER. Based on the glistening of her skin, she appears as if she's been salsa dancing for an hour non-stop (probably the lambada), and is ready for more."
"When this album came out, 2 Live were the baddest of the bad boys. Therefore, these luscious booties on the cover have to belong to the baddest of the bad girls. It's impossible to pick the hottest one, but it's hypnotic trying."
"Candy-O suffers only because it's a drawing, not a real woman. Granted, it's a GREAT drawing of an undeniably sexy woman, but I have to rank "real" women ahead of this one. Plus, this could have been just as hot if she had NOT been wearing a see-through bikini."
"The sexiness of this cover lies in the fact that it's the usually leather-clad Joan Jett. I've always found Jett attractive, but on this cover, she's "baring" herself for the first time. Her hair is fresh-out-of-bed sexy, and the look on her face tells you, you better look at this, because it ain't gonna happen again."
"There is just simply NEVER a bad time for a cat suit and high heels. Belinda often teeters on the brink of "cute" more than "sexy", but this, her first solo album, showed she would be fine with the spotlight on her alone."
"Kudos to Rob Zombie on this album cover. The photography is great, the girl is ridiculously gorgeous, and the 60s lounge vibe almost makes this cover seem especially taboo. Feels like it should be the cover of an old "Party at the Playboy Mansion" episode. Classic!"
"You can read what I wrote for my #4 pick and get my impression of this cover. Although she's too thin here, those are STILL some killer legs she's showing off. This was my favorite cover of hers until "Mimi" came out."
"Once again, Belinda in a black cat suit. The pose is sexier than before, but I think she overdid it on the facial make up. She's naturally gorgeous, and doesn't need that much make up. But that cat suit.............. LOOK AT THAT CAT SUIT!!!!!!!!"
"First off, this pose is sooooooooooo sexy. Secondly, this is another example of how you don't need to flash a lot of skin to be sexy. Third, this is the hands-down #1 pick if I was doing a list of "Sexiest Christmas Album Covers"."
"My first country entry on this list deserves to be a legend like Tanya Tucker. Standing by a lake, wearing a sexy bikini, but then making an insincere attempt at modesty by covering herself in a see-through "robe", while slipping a fantastically gorgeous leg out the front. This is TEXTBOOK sexy!"
"Ok, I cheated here. This cover was only for the vinyl LP, not the CD, for some unknown reason. But I'll cheat if I have to to get the undeniably greatest set of legs in rock n roll history on this list."
"Whereas Sheila had been glistening before, she's outright DRENCHED on this cover. I don't always believe wet hair is sexy, but it ABSOLUTELY is on this cover. Coupled with the bronze tint, the crossed arms, and the look on her face, even with her eyes closed, this is another example of "tastefully sexy", but in a wet-n-wild kind of way. Love it."
"Madonna's made her living on selling sex, but in terms of album covers, she'd been pretty tame. Love her or hate her, her body is tighter than a lot of women half her age, and her pose on this cover gives me a "willful submission" vibe. Like Krall's previous album, the sexiness is in the pose more than the flesh."
"A girl with a guitar is sexy. A girl with a tight body, blue jeans, no shirt on, with a sliver of boob showing, and a guitar is unequaled. It's a simple black & white cover, but that simple "ensemble" works to maximum effect."
"This cover looks so raw, unorganized, and disjointed, but that's what really makes it work. That, and an incredibly hot blonde in a tight white tank-top and cut-off denim shorts, strategically placed in front of a mirror so we get a little peek-a-boo at a gorgeous rear. The "dirty-country" vibe is all over this cover, and that adds to the sexiness."
"It's almost cleansing to have Diana Krall following up on Adina Howard's cover. Sexy black dress, VERY sexy heels, sexy pose, and a sexy facial expression. This cover probably cost nothing to make, and about the same amount of effort. There's some kind of additional sexiness to simplicity and saving money."
"One of Lorrie's lesser known albums, for some unknown reason, they went with a "blurred" look to the cover. Terrible decision. Otherwise, Lorrie's sporting the killer legs in a short skirt, with the top hanging open ever-so-slightly. Another sexy country cover that is major-league sexy, but still leaves much to the imagination."
"Again, a drawing for the cover, but probably one of the most detailed drawings of a set of legs on an album cover ever. And the butt is just a little too big for the legs, which makes it stand out even more. I'd love to see the rest of this hottie."
"J-Lo, doing her "look-at-me-I'm-a-street-tough-New-York-Puerto-Rican-gangsta-girl" impersonation. I love it. I don't believe it, but with the low neck line, short skirt, her beautiful skin, cute hair, and gangsta-boo hat, I don't care."
"It's a shame this band couldn't find any success in the Top 40, because they absolutely MASTERED album covers. All their albums featured beautiful women, but I think this is by far the most beautiful, and since I'm a "leg man", this one easily wins out."
"The 1 disc version of this album has a cover from this same shoot that doesn't have the opened-shirt cover. If you wanna spend the extra money for the 2 disc, you get this cover. Celine usually teases us on the inside of her album jackets, but she went with the front cover here. Good decision. This one actually pulls off the rare feat of "tasteful, yet blatant"."
"Once again, a girl with a guitar (who may or may not have clothes on behind that guitar). And even though there's very little leg showing, this cover still makes her legs look sexy. The pose, the messed-up hair and the long, bare arms make her look vulnerable, but it's all offset by the guitar, which makes her still look tough and sexy."
"Okay, I admit, this cover's a little odd. What is Carly doing??? I can come up with something she could be doing from that position, but it's an odd choice of pose. Otherwise, hot boots, and that skirt is letting her butt peak out just enough to be VERY sexy."
"Another tastefully sexy country cover. Shania just waking "up". The tight, white shirt, along with what I like to assume are some equally tight shorts/panties, hug her near-perfect figure. The messed-up hair, and the arms raised over her head is very submissive, but very sexy."
"Ashanti has a killer body, but much like her music, she doesn't make it really stand-out from the rest (like Beyonce, Mariah, etc.) Luscious legs, it just looks a little too much like a cover the before-mentioned artists have already come up with."
"Part of this pick comes from seeing Apollonia (the lead singer) bare her boobies in "Purple Rain". I was in 6th grade, and hers were some of the first I'd ever seen, so yeah, there's some sentimentality to this pick, but come on, she's in her underwear!"
"I'm not sure what this woman is wearing, but she's gorgeous. She's completely wrapped around this lucky guy, showing us a little boob on the side. Kind of basic, but she's just so naturally beautiful, she deserves a spot here."
