Greatest Bad or Cheesy Movies Available on DVD

John Paul "Gymkata Black Belt"
The list author says: "I love bad movies, but finding movies that have a good balance between awful and entertaining can be difficult. Most of the bad movies to have come out in the past 10 or so years are too self aware and that takes all the fun out of it. This list is a compliation of my favorites from terrible cinema over the past couple of decades that all qualify as wonderful grade D fun. For anyone who cares, all of these movies were shot on film as far as I can tell, excpet for possibly "Ring Around the Rosie.""
The New Barbarians
The New Barbarians
"This is the mother of all awesomely bad, post-apocolyptic cinema (a larger genre than one might think).  If you like bad movies do your self a big favor and see this movie!"
Lady Terminator
Lady Terminator
"Never have a seen such an amazing rip-off of any movie.  I can't stress enough how hilarious this movie is, right up there with New Barbarians."
Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe
Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe
"Jesse Ventura as a 10,000 year old bounty hunter searching for a villan who is trying to find the anti-life equation.  For as cheap as this one is to purchase, the laughs to dollar ratio should be very high."
Immortal Combat
Immortal Combat
"Roddy Piper and Sonny Chiba in a buddy flick.  I don't know if anything else needs to be said."
Sci-Fighters
Sci-Fighters
"This movie actually isn't half as bad as most of the others on this list.  Its actually pretty entertaining, if you can get past the ridiculous costumes, acting, and dialouge."
Happy Hell Night
Happy Hell Night
"Don't be fooled by the title and bad cover art.  This movie is great...in a bad way.  And it stars Darrin McGavin (the Dad from A Christmas Story)."
Hawk the Slayer
Hawk the Slayer
"If knights, giants and awfully excellent 80's special effects are your thing then this movie is for you.  And Jack Palance is the bad guy. (Warning:  This movie is a little slow at times)"
Gymkata
Gymkata
"This movie is ASTOUNDINGLY BAD, but also hugely entertaining.  Olympic gymnist fights for his life in a martial arts tournament using a combination of gymnastics and karate.  It is easily one of my favorites."
Night of the Demons
Night of the Demons
"An 80s classic in its own right, but still quite bad (in an entertaining way)."
The Warrior and the Sorceress
The Warrior and the Sorceress
"A post-apocolyptic, western, remake of Yojimbo..."starring" David Carradine.  Wow."
American Samurai
American Samurai
"One of the more satisfying terrible action movies I've ever seen."
Hercules/The Adventures of Hercules
Hercules/The Adventures of Hercules
"Its hard to know what to say.  These movies are painfully bad, but Lou Ferrigno is still awesome in them.  They really border on unwatchable, but are certainly one of a kind."
C.H.U.D.
C.H.U.D.
"No bad movie list can be complete without CHUD.  Not that I recommend watching it."
The Ice Pirates
The Ice Pirates
"Ususally comedies are not permitted in the so bad its good arena, but this one fits the bill nicely.  An 80s classic."
Tourist Trap
Tourist Trap
"Cheesy, fun, and actually kind of scary at some points."
Mirror, Mirror Four-Film Collection
Mirror, Mirror Four-Film Collection
"Four movies worthy of headlining Cinemax Up All Night."
1990: Bronx Warriors
1990: Bronx Warriors
"The Warriors meets Escape From New York....with a really low budget."
2019 - After the Fall of New York
2019 - After the Fall of New York
"More post-apocolyptic fun."
Fortress
Fortress
"Cool sets, cool action...hilarious movie."
Sleepaway Camp
Sleepaway Camp
"The only one of the Sleepaway Camp trilogy worth watching (because unlike parts 2 and 3 this movie takes itself seriously, while the others are spoofs).  Bad and cheesy with a very memorable ending."
Steel Dawn
Steel Dawn
"Kind of boring, but just dumb enough to keep your attention.  Also follows a very similar plot to Star Wars Episode One in many ways (except this came about 20 years earlier)."
Ghosts of Mars (Special Edition)
Ghosts of Mars (Special Edition)
"I hate to put this on here because John Carpenter is easliy my favorite director of all time, but with a character named Desolation Williams and a ship called the Trans Marinara it must be included."
Stone Cold
Stone Cold
"I'd been waiting years for this to come to DVD because I missed it in the theater when it came out (early 90's).  It was worth the wait."
Ring Around the Rosie
Ring Around the Rosie
"This is one of the few newer films to make it onto this list.  Tom Sizemore's drunken (I'm assuming) performance should not be missed."
Solarbabies
Solarbabies
"Another 80s classic with a decent amount of famous people early in their careers.  I compare it to Dune, but on rollerskates."
Project: Shadowchaser 3000 / Night Siege - Project: Shadowchaser 2 (Double Feature)
Project: Shadowchaser 3000 / Night Siege - Project: Shadowchaser 2 (Double Feature)
"This is a great two pack of horrible entertainment.  These movies have that nebulus quality of feeling that they were not made in the US, only used American actors.  In fact they probably were, but feel like low budget Canadian movies or something.  I highly recommend these for the low price."
Undefeatable
Undefeatable
"A spectacularly bad movie, but with one of the most amazingly hilarious (it isn't supposed to be) action sequences ever.  One of my favorite Cynthia Rothrock movies."
The Room
The Room
"There has been a lot of hype about how horrid this movie is and it absolutely lives up to it.  I recommend checking out clips or trailers online if you can.  The quailty is a bit weird because it was shot on digital and film simulateously (don't ask why) and he mostly uses the digital footage."
