The trading books on this list represent the finest (out of 100+) that I had read in the last 15 years. They're the ones that I'm still referencing. They're the ones that I wished that I had read, understood and internalized before I started trading (would have saved me a lot of time, effort, and money). I listed these books in the order of relevance as I believe that psychology and money management are slightly more important than trading tactics and strategies.
The first 5 books are my game changers - they are my Trading Bibles!!! Note: My 6th Trading Bible - "The Definitive Guide to Position Sizing" by Van Tharp - is not available on Amazon. You can only get it from Tharp's website for $200 (there's a free pdf version on the internet).
The remaining 6 books had also left a good impression on me, so I recommend them highly.
Like the markets, this is an "evolving" list. Newer and better books (as I discover them) will be added to or replaced those that are considered inferior or outdated. Thus, keeping this list dynamic and current.
About me - the longer I trade, the more I realized: simplicity in strategy + discipline in practice + tight money management to avoid the risk-of-ruin + compounding to accentuate returns = the 4 key elements of trading success. The cleaner my charts, the more money I make. So for intra-day trend trading of futures and spot forex, I only use EMAs, price ranges and PA analysis to look for low risk, high reward entries at retracements.
However, trading is a very personal journey. What works for me might not work for you. IMO, to be successful, you must find, modify or create trading system(s) that mesh well with your psyche and personality, which is a lot easier said than done.
I hope that these books are of use to you. Live long (trade well) and prosper!!!
