The list author says: "For me, it's always the mental battle that honks things up so here are a few tips that always work wonders for me:
Make your bed off-limits to everything but sleep and grown folks activities. When you get a good night's rest, you're less likely to bomb your body with empty carbs the next day.
Stay away from drive-thrus & vending machines - they're super-sized evil. If speed & convenience motivate you, make a week's worth of meals on the weekend & freeze them. Better to lose a few hours than gain a few sizes.
However, if you must eat out - actually go in the restaurant. It'll make you accountable for what you're eating. Think about what you eat when you're out with friends and then what you eat when you're alone - scary gross, right? Don't be that person that gets 3 kids meals "for the collector toys" - your behind tells a different story.
Lastly, guys are competitive butts & girls are jealous witches - it's just the way we're wired. DO tell everyone you're trying to tone up (accountability) but DON"T let people screw up your goals with petty BS. Spouses, siblings, and friends will undermine & sabotage you at every turn (mostly unintentionally). Turn the tables on them. Instead of letting them lead you into temptation (ha!), guide them into a healthier choices - like picking more active outtings for you to do together (who's up for kickball in the park?).
I think the methods have gotten me farther than the tools but only time will tell. For the record, I've lost enough weight to drop an entire size in the last 12 days by using them and am able to run (!) up 2 flights of stairs without getting winded. My goal is to be dressing like a woman half my age by summer. Hope these help you meet your goals as well."
"don't dismiss it because you think it won't fit - i've seen it easily zip up a 3XL belly. especially useful if you're avoiding certain exercises because of a jiggly belly - keeps it locked down. i wear mine when i exercise and when i eat at home because the constriction makes you more aware of your intake."
"this was my first twist board & is identical to the bally one. i got 2 because my size 10 shoes are a little too big for it but i work harder on one so i keep the spare in the kitchen for when i'm doing dishes, etc."
"this is by far my favorite workout. you can find cheaper versions of it at discount stores (ross - great place for fitness gadgets). it takes all your abuse and in return, it gives you agility, stamina & release. just LOVE it."
"all the benefits of a treadmill but only 1% of the cost plus it's portable! stick it in your bag & jump rope while you're waiting for the train, spend 10 minutes of your lunch getting fit, swing by the park on the way home & pretend you're 5 again."
"space it out to maximize the effectiveness of the energy boost & appetite suppressant (half bottle every 4 hrs worked for me). don't drink a whole bottle at once then expect to work quietly in your cubicle (lfmf) and don't skip meals when you're on it because when it wears off, EVERYTHING looks munchable."
"don't roll your eyes - you can do an entire interval training session during 'covered in rain' alone. driving guitar & strong bass (go Dela) make it perfect for an intense workout. besides...it's f'ing brilliant."
