Top Ten Rush Albums

Robert J. Reverter
The list author says: "This a list of my top ten Rush albums proper from best to worst. Of the live albums, Different Stages is the best, as you get Rush from 3 tours ('78, '94 and '96 as well as a complete 2112). Hope this helps if you are not a fan but thinking of checking out some Rush"

"Almost a tie at the top between this and Moving Pictures.  Just a matter of preference.  For me, the closing track sealed the deal. Spirit of Radio, Freewill, and Natural Science are outright classics."
Moving Pictures [Remastered]

"Their most famous album, and a true classic.  The opening 5 songs are incredible, with my favorite being The Camera Eye."
A Farewell to Kings

"In the middle of their prog period, this gem came out.  Rush from '76-'81 was really special.  Many classics on this one as well (title track, Xanadu, Closer to the Heart)"
2112 [Remastered]
2112 [Remastered]
"The one that put them on the map.  The title cut is a glorious 20 minutes, perhaps their greatest song.  Don't be intimidated by the length of the song, as it hums along.  So much beauty, anger and energy mixed together.  The rest of the songs are by no means weak, but compared to the epic title track they are a bit of a letdown."
Signals (Remastered)

"This is where they started to get heavily into keyboards.  Still, Subdivisions is one of their greatest songs, and there are other classic songs like Analog Kid, New World Man, Losing It and Countdown."
Caress Of Steel [Remastered]
Caress Of Steel [Remastered]
"A very underrated album.  Other than the funny I Think I'm Going Bald, every song is strong.  Definitely hints at things to come.  The end of Lakeside Park is beautiful beyond words.  Two long songs dominate the album, but both are good and have really excellent segments, including perhaps their best melody in Return of the Prince"
Hemispheres (Remastered)

"Don't care for the long opening song, though it does have its moments.  However, the other three songs are classics, including the incredible instrumental La Villa Strangiato.  Even if you're not one for instrumentals, this song is a must listen"
Test for Echo

"Many fans didn't like this one, but it is a very solid record filled with catchy melodies.  Alex Lifeson on the acoustic guitar is always a good thing.  Driven, Half the World, Totem and Resist are highlights"
Vapor Trails
Vapor Trails
"A nice comeback after Neil's tragedies.  The mixing on this one is bad, but a re-mix is in the works.  The songs themselves are quite good, with How It Is and Freeze being my favorites"
Fly By Night (Remastered)
Fly By Night (Remastered)
"Neil's first album, and contains a hint at things to come with By-Tor and the Snowdog.  Fly By Night is also a classic, and there are other good songs on this one"
